I will be a new grad in May 2011 with my BSN and I have applied to a few residencies such as St. Luke's and Memorial Hermann, but I can't seem to find any of the other hospital's postings yet. Has anyone else been able to?
Cmunst- I'm not sure! I think all the big popular hospitals (who have very formal GN programs) only hire GNs in the Spring and Winter. But I think you can call the smaller hospitals and they might definately be more flexible. The hospital that hired me doesn't advertise GN positions as a formal thing, but they do give GNs good orientations when the need arises. Try Bayshore and also call around. Ooh, and I'm sure if you must look for jobs with the December 2011 group, you will definately be ahead of the game because you should've passed your NCLEX by then!
The recruiter told me on Wednesday that they have 1 more critical care GN/RN position availiable. I will ask if there are any other specialties that are willing to take a GN. *on HCA's site they don't write GN on the job listing...I just applied and called them back saying that they recently called me about a position...she was then able to look at my resume and I started chatting her up and she led me to the CCU job lol* so try that. PM me and I will give you the recruiter's name and give you a couple tips.

I don't know if you will check this forum again but I have an interview at Bayshore Medical Center tomorrow, Jan 19, 2012. I am super excited as its been a pain finding a job and I love that area. The interview is for IMCU with Ms. Sharma (don't know if that is the correct spelling.) If you happen to check this tonight (doubtful I know ) do you have any advice? Thank you!!
