Yeah, I just called. He wasn't in today and I spoke to the secretary...she says that they are still calling people for interviews but my concern is warranted and I should call again tomorrow when he's in. I am just frustrated because I'm a nurse tech from Summer 2009 (the other techs in my cohort were a year ahead of me and have since graduated... I was the NS "baby" of the 2009 group, so to speak) and now I'm hearing Techs from the summer 2010 class getting called... so it does kind of rub me the wrong way, as I have been working with them for twice as long. And no, I shouldn't feel entitled to a job, but I feel I deserve an interview, at the very least. Maybe I'm jumping to conclusions too quickly.... told you I'm a huge worrier!

That would totally Irk me also! I was annoyed it took them so long to give me an interview for another position that I started applying to other hospitals..... But I did apply to them before i started looking elsewhere

It's a bit sad that I was interviewed at another hospital and offered a job.... and then finally got an interview from them...

Keep your head up Trill! I hope things turn out better... I talk to a lady from Ben Taub? I think she is the head recruiter I have her number if you want it?

Thanks for the encouragement! Yes, I would love to get her contact information. PM it to me. Do you think you could let her know that I plan on calling?

That is what I usually do...just go up there. But I'm still at school hundreds of miles away. So I am unable to physically show up until I graduate next week.

Texas A&M International University, in Laredo Texas. (I'm literally 20 minutes away from the US/Mexico border). But Houston is my hometown.

Oh wow. Yeah Houston is my hometown too. I also go to school not in Houston and am working in Houston after I graduate. I was just wondering because you said your worked as a nurse tech. Glad to know I'm not the only one that worked as a nurse tech in another city from where I went to school haha.

Oh yeah, you aren't!! It's actually a blessing when you kinda think about it... quick cash is availiable whenever you could work! Where in Texas did you go to school? I would like to stay in Houston as well, but I have to think of other options as well (staying in Laredo... NOT one of those options though)

I go to The University of Texas at Tyler and I love it. But miss my family and my hometown so I'm moving back home. There are a lot of options out there its just hard because all the big cities aren't hiring many.

Yeah, I applied up there too actually. At the Trinity Francis... never heard anything back from them though (but I was a bit apprehensive about moving towards east Texas.... due to stories I've heard).

Yeah you probably never heard anything back because they are pretty loyal to the UT Tyler students and the TJC students. East Texas isn't bad I've enjoyed it here. The price of living is just quite cheaper then Houston and Dallas so the pay of nurses' isn't what you will see in the big cities but that is to be expected. However, there is nothing to do here but go out to eat and go to church haha thats why I'm excited to be moving back home to Houston.
