Houston Community College Fall 2014

Is there anyone planning to apply for the Fall 2014 ADN program at HCC Coleman??

Berryberries, you better believe I will be on them! I will call and go to the school and pay the high parking fee! I just want answers and just tell me what I need to do! Sometimes it can be frustrating, but it will pay off! I feel like even calling next week, but, being the holiday on monday, maybe I will try my luck on wednesday or just go with my original plan and either call or go up to the school the first week of June

What I'd suggest is to send them an e-mail, since they'll have today and Friday to answer it. Or I believe you could also go to the nursing room (which is 216 i believe?). To be honest, when I call HCC Coleman I always ask to be transferred to the RN nursing program and the lady there always gets back to me really quick.

I stopped going to the counselor's because usually they'll just tell you to send an e-mail. I think the counselor has assistants who are more equipped to help you make a degree plan rather than answer questions about your application status. haha!

Oh I have a question for everyone! What is your program/major listed as? If you log in to student system it will say. How do we change it? Will it change to ADN once we are in the program?

I had to declare myself in the Health Science program when I visited my counselor. She said my major would change once I'm accepted.

I'm in health & science but then it still says ASsociates in Arts. I just graduated with that. And now financial aid is denying me for fall because they say I've already completed my Assoc in arts. So I've got to change it- but I guess since we aren't "technically" in ADN program yet I'm not sure what to do. Financial aid is letting me appeal it thank goodness. Do you have advisor/counselor at Coleman?

Actually the counselor that advised me to make my major health science was in West Loop. I got the same problem with my financial aid and I have to appeal it. :(

Why are you choosing HCC? Just wanted to know anyone's rationale for choosing HCC. For me it would be low cost, convenience, location, and I have a friend that graduated from there, and she gave me great reviews on it. But then again, everyone thinks the school they attended was the greatest.

In all honesty, it's a good school but what sealed the deal was the cost. I figured I could get my RN certification then I could move on to get my Bachelor's at another university. Many universities allow current RNs to take online classes to work towards their Bachelor's :D

Hey there, I am still up studying. Hope everyone does well on the upcoming test!

Be careful because I found two wrong 'right' answers when we did the review, so me and some classmates made sure to point it out to our professor. I don't know if your test will be the same as ours, but make sure to look at the review and if you find anything wrong, let the professor know.

What did you end up getting on the test? I was very happy. My final grade was a 90 =) one down, two to go! Plus the dreaded Edose!
