Houston Community College Fall 2013

U.S.A. Texas

Hello,

Is anyone applying to HCC for the upcoming fall semester? I just recently turned in my application.

3 for me! I had to drive down to the West Loop campus for my other class and decided to see what my drive would be like since I am driving all the way in from Montgomery. I made it in time after getting my kids on the bus and that was with really bad traffic the entire way. Glad that is no longer a stressor for me. Good luck everyone!

Wow, that's quite a drive! Good to hear you're planning ahead. I'm so excited to start class!

I'm driving from The Woodlands!!

@ pamela, we could start a study group! Too bad we're not on the same day. We could have car pulled! Traffic was CRAZY all the way there and all the way back. Lol. I'm used to being in my little box out here. But I know it will be well worth it!

I know you should've gone Friday! Lol :p

@jb2016 let us know how class goes :D

Haha Pamela I'm so Excited! Will have to go to sleep extra early tonight though have to leave around 5am to get to class with time. Do you know anything about parking? Or if we will have access or have to pay cause I've no idea and am new to HCC. I see on our HCC online we can print a paper but I've also no idea how that will work. If you've any idea it's appreciated!

Class was pretty much introduction, descriptions of what we will be doing, expectations, and a review on how to use the mynursinglab and Edose. I parked directly across from Coleman and it cost me $10.00. I am looking for other suggestions for parking. @Pamela, Leave early!!!! I made it with 5 minutes to spare and left my house at 7:20am and that was with relatively decent traffic. I think this class is going to be very hard but a lot of fun too. I love our professor!

When I first took my pre-requites at Coleman I found out how expensive parking is. Ever since then it's been the metro for me! You don't really have much choice jb. You could either pay a monthly rate for TMC parking or use any one of the Metro Park and Ride.

I would love to ride metro but I have two kids to get to school and it would take me twice the time to do that due to where I live. I will check into the TMC parking. Thanks!

Okay so I have found this everyone!

Another option is parking downtown at one of the cheaper parking lots and riding the rail to TMC/HCC. I don't know if it's still down there but there was parking at the Museum garage for $3 per day. I haven't been to that garage in over two years so I don't know if it's still that cheap. Another one, you can park behind Sams off of 610 for free and ride the rail to HCC. If you choose this option, the spots here fill up quick so be aware of that. HTH.

sometimes do the park & ride option... a full-time student can get 1/2 off any metro services. You just have to go to the downtown metro office and request a student metro q card. If i do decide to drive in, I park behind the sams off of fannin and 610. That is the cheapest thing to do

So it's not a solution but its some sort of alternative
