Houston Community College ADN Spring 2016 Applicants

Hello everyone,

I have started a thread for anyone who will be applying for Houston Community College ADN Spring 2016. Please add any questions and or comments and hopefully we will be able to exchange information here and keep ourselves positive on our journey to get accepted into the nursing program. I can't wait to hear from everyone! I haven't taken my HESI A2 exam so any pointers would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

That's my problem too, my Hep B titer came back neg b/c i took blood work only 2 weeks after shot. The problem is I wont have a chance at a positive titer until December 11th. I'm gonna try to talk to someone higher up. Because my everything else is done and I need to be in this program.

They keep saying you run the risk of not being able to start the program when I talk to them...everything else is completed for me as well and my mumps and rubella titers were even positive it's just that one measles portion how crazy....I'm going to try it again Monday and see if maybe I have immunity by then...good luck

Call Kate and let her know you only waiting on a titer result, and if it's only one item of the list she may give you an extention of a week. Make sure you have all the others items ready. That what she told me.

Thanks ladies...will contact her. Was going to go on Monday to talk to her in person. I'll try again Monday as well for another titer and hopefully it comes back positive.

Went today and got blood work and my test was negative AGAIN....it's just too soon for a positive result!!! This is devastating!

How were you able to get the results the same day? I went yesterday as well and they told me Wednesday or Thursday for my results. I should've used your lab...have you talked to CD yet

Sorry to hear you're having such a difficult time with your titer :/ hopefully they'll give you an extension on it!

They haven't given me the results yet, but b/c I work for the hospital it allows me to be able to go online and view all my labs I've ever taken. I went in last night and to my surprise the results were already uploaded. I'm so devasted. She is allowing me until Friday for a positive titer. But I feel like if I didn't get one yesterday why would I get one Friday. Although Friday actually makes a full 4 weeks since I received my second shot which is supposed to give 80% immunity. It's technically my third shot, but my first was 2 years ago, and so I'm just trying to take the series over. Got one in October and another November 12th. I don't know what to do at this point.

Did you go and re-titer on Friday? How did things turn out for you?
