Hello! There are a few threads floating around regarding applications to Houston GN/Nurse Residency positions. I just wanted to start one that discusses all residencies in Houston.
I have already applied for a Memorial Hermann and Ben Taub Nurse residency position. I have also applied to the CVICU, ER, and Women's Services positions for Houston Methodist, as well as an ER position at Texas Children's. I am considering if I still want to apply to St. Lukes. I have decided not to apply to HCA nurse intern positions because they pay beans for the first 12 weeks, and I don't want to work for a corporation that takes advantage of their employees in that way.
I have been invited to Ben Taub's information session, and have received an email from Memorial Hermann HR regarding a behavioral assessment to be an eligible candidate for employment.
I'm wondering where you all may have applied and if anyone has heard anything back from their applications yet?
I have applied to TCH, Cypress Fairbanks Versant, Methodist West, Methodist St Catherine and St Lukes. I am pending an offer or decline from Methodist West by the end of the month, have an interview with Methodist St Catherine next week, received an email from Cypress Fairbanks Versant last week to expect more information this week, TCH applicant closure is Friday so do not expect to hear from them until next week about interviews.
I have interviewed with quite a few of them. Even some regionals that I did not apply for. They do not tend to call back unless you got the job or they plan to schedule an interview. At least that has been my experience. I am still interviewing. I have posted on a different thread regarding the other locations. This thread has a lot of people who have already received or accepted positions. So I opted to start my own threads about specific locations to try to narrow down the sites.
I will be finishing school in March 2016 and hope to apply to Memorial Hermann-TMC. I currently live in NC and hope to relocate after completing school. Would anyone be willing to PM with information in regards to the application and interview process. I don't know when they typically post position for the summer cohorts. I saw on their website that you apply to only one position for the residency program, is that correct?

Has anyone signed their FINAL offer yet? I've only signed the initial paperwork and done my background release.
