Hey guys,

Looking to go back to school for my msn IDEALLY in Los Angeles but will consider anywhere really.

Who knows of any Los Angeles hospitals that pay for school IN FULL?

If not, what hospitals, in any region of the country, do you know of that offers full tuition payment or full tuition reimbursement?

I know there are few and far between these days, that's why I decided to ask here. They are definitely out there, just difficult to find via google. I've tried.

Thanks in advance!

george Washington hospital , in Wash.DC, use to........

I'm in NY, but I know most of the hospitals only start paying towards education once you put in one year of work with them. Of course, full time employees get more tuition assistance than part time employees. Good luck in your search.

Hi! I've been researching the same thing and found that the University of Chicago Medical Center will pay 100% to the school of your choice for a BSN or MSN. It will pay 75% of your tuition for DNP with no commitment. If you find any other hospitals that reimburse on this level please let me know!

Parkland Hospital in Dallas has a scholarship program that covers all costs for up to five employees yearly to attend nursing school. You have to have worked there a year and then apply for it and be selected, so it is far from a sure thing.

I believe that tuition reimbursement has a maximum allowed of $5250 per year. I could be mistaken, but I have been told this before by HR at a former employer.

When you look for an employer that does this, make sure they don't close tuition reimbursement half way thru the fiscal year because they are out of money. 10 days before tuition is due and they decide they are done paying for school for the year. My employer boasts paying $5,000/year up to $20,000 for your MSN but the program always runs out. Kinda BS when you cite that as a perk but it is rarely available.

All the University of California Medical Centers (LA, SF, Irvine, Davis, San Diego) offer 2/3 reduction in tuition for eligible employees (nurses included) if accepted to any of the University of California campuses (includes those with MS and PhD programs in nursing but not DNP).

UNC in Chapel Hill, NC will waive up to 3 courses per year at an NC state system school, to include all student/activity etc fees for the entire semester (so you can waive on class fall, Spring, Summer and get all the fees waived for the year!). Additionally they will reimburse 20 credit hours per year on top of that at the UNC tuition rate. So at a NC school you could take ususally 29 hrs per year fully covered. If you go to another school (not NC system) they will reimburse up to 20 credit hours at the NC tuition rate. It's really good as I did my RN-BSN in 1 year and only had to pay for my textbooks.

Also VCU in Richmond, VA will pay about 17 credit hours per year in the BSN or MSN program for full time employees. So you could do an MSN/NP program over 3 years to get it all covered.
