Hospitals discriminating against medical conditions..?

Published

If a person has a medical condition and is prescribed medical cannabis by a medical doctor would it not be discrimitory for a nurse to be denied employment? Nurses should have the same rights as any other individuals that are not nurses. This is common sense. A nurse should have the right to chose either man made chemicals (which can lead to absolute dependance) or chose naturally occurring medicines such as cannabis (which is much less likely for dependance). Why are we being denied this right? If you say its because there is no test to measure if a nurse is high on the job or not then guess what? Its not the nurses fault this test does not exist so why does the nurse have to limit their options for medical care? Having said that I feel hospitals are discriminating against medical conditions and I don't even know how they are not being prosecuted for this. Medical cannabis is prescribed by a medical doctor and therefore is in FACT a medication! Hospitals are not hiring and firing people with medical prescriptions.

Bad trip, huh, kiddo?

And I thought you 'liked' all that ;)

That's all there was on that list; I have no doubt there's more pages with lots more info. But still pretty sure pot smoking is not a "protected" activity ;)

Oh, no doubt! The fact that facilities can refuse to hire smokers even though it is a legal activity pretty much leaves no doubt that they can also apply the same logic to marijuana use. People can complain all they want that they "can't do that if it's legal," but clearly they certainly can.

I'm sure tons of people can agree this day and time is the worst when it comes to all the twisted laws out there. Some that make people destroy towns! Boom in your damn face!

And now we have officially devolved into nonsense. Do you have anything further to add to the discussion concerning marijuana laws and the State BoN.....or is this it?

For the record, no one "destroyed their towns" over a confusing or twisted law. They "destroyed their towns" because of bad race relations. Not in the same debate, really.

So RNsRWe you just called everyone with a medical marijuana license uneducated. How lovely.

It's all government related right?

And I thought you 'liked' all that ;)

It's making me laugh. I like to laugh.

So RNsRWe you just called everyone with a medical marijuana license

uneducated. How lovely.

What a strange mistake to have made. It is completely incorrect, I said nothing of the sort. What I SAID was: "People who have nursing licenses are supposed to be educated enough to recognize that if they want something to change, THEY should work on changing it--legally."

That was my exact quote. Perhaps you misread it. Perhaps you are intentionally misrepresenting what I said. In any event....you are making false accusations....and anyone who DOES read what is written can see that.

This forum is for "lively debate and discussion". Are you choosing to not do so?

I'm sure tons of people can agree this day and time is the worst when it comes to all the twisted laws out there. Some that make people destroy towns! Boom in your damn face!

Laws that "make people destroy towns!" Emphasis is mine.

Wow, who knew that a law could MAKE people riot, destroy property, and act like barbarians.

So RNsRWe you just called everyone with a medical marijuana license uneducated. How lovely.

No she didn't. But I suspect you know that perfectly well, because I doubt you are actually that obtuse. Which means you are trolling, right?

I'm sure tons of people can agree this day and time is the worst when it comes to all the twisted laws out there.

I don't. I live in a neighborhood where 60 years ago, the deed restrictions stated that no one could sell their home to a black person. There were laws on the books making certain sex acts between consulting adults illegal. There are reams of old laws which were pretty "twisted,"so I don't believe it's "the worst" now.

perhaps I did misread your statement. However, you guys are pointing at everything but the main point I'm trying to make here which is nurse or no nurse laws are made for EVERY single soul out there. There are no separate laws for certain professionals..

I am referring to a state that issues and allows medical marijuana thank you very much!

Your snark isn't doing much for your argument.
