Okay, I sent my application in for Early Decision to Hopkins...I have applied for the traditional BSN program. Originally, I had planned on applying for the ABSN, but the more I learned about Hopkins, the more I wanted to spend more time there and soak up all that they have to offer. Their opportunities for community outreach are amazing, and I really wanted to participate in a summer program.
So, who else is applying? Good luck to all!!!

Hi SFChef!
I've applied ED to the ABSN program at Hopkins. I can't wait until December 15th! Have you visited JHU at all? I went to an open house and absolutely fell in love. GOOD LUCK!
No, I haven't been to an open house. I live in San Francisco, so it's not as easy to visit. I have, however, spent numerous hours on their website and feel like I know as much as I possibly can. It is the ONLY school I want to attend, so I really hope I'm accepted.
You are so lucky to have been to an open house...tell me everything!
I guess now that our applications are in, all we can do is wait. Good luck! Keep me posted.
I know what you mean; I plan on applying to other schools "just in case," but I just really want to go to Hopkins. The Open House just reinforced what I'd already read & heard; the faculty was wonderful (serious, but also very friendly and approachable), the students seemed driven but not too stressed-out, and the facilities were exactly what you'd expect from Johns Hopkins. The class sizes were a little bit larger than I'm used to (I'm going for a second degree), but I suspect I'd find that any any nursing school these days.
The waiting is almost unbearable, isn't it? I'll keep you posted as I hear back--please do the same! Good luck to you, too!

I applied to Hopkins for Early Decision also. I am so nervous. I applied for the traditional BSN program. I am so nervous. It may be a long shot for me, but I am keeping my fingers crossed. I haven't applied anywhere else.
Good luck to everyone. Can't wait to check back in December to see who got in. :)

I went to Hopkins for my Master's in Music. It's an awesome school! Good luck everyone!
Hey CalinurseS! Sorry, I just saw your reply. Isn't the wait excruciating?! I need to work on my patience!
Are you thinking of applying to any other schools (just in case!) What are you doing in the meantime?
I graduated with a Liberal Arts degree last spring, and I've been busy taking prereq's and volunteering this semester. I really, REALLY want to go to Hopkins, but I have been looking at other schools in DC, MD, & VA (just in case!). Good luck to you!
Yes, the wait is excruciating! Every time I get a phone call from a number that I don't recognize, I think it may be Hopkins calling with good news. I know it is too early for that, but I still get nervous. Like I said before, I don't know that I am a very competitive applicant, so I won't be shocked if I don't get in.
I have applied to a couple other CA schools. I don't really want to stay in CA, so I may apply other places once if I don't get in. I am holding off on other applications until I hear.
What other schools are you looking at?

Do they call you to let you know of the decision or do they use mail/e-mail?

I just sent my application for the traditional program today! They said the usually reply around feb/mar. The acceptance rate is a lot higher than I thought, but still competitive. I'm going to apply to other schools just in case. Anyone else applying to nyu or umass?
From what I've been reading from past applicants that posted, they all seem to get a call if they were accepted and a letter that comes later. The people that didn't get in just got a letter I think. There are about 500 applicants and around 100 people accepted, so it's understandable why they would only want to contact 100 people versus all 500.
