Pearson Vue Trick - Does it Work Every Time? Part 2
It's nice to know I'm not the only one to get all worked up over this exam! I took such comfort in reading everyone else's stories this afternoon, so here is mine (the quick version): Took the test today (Sept 14, 2pm). Very nervous (headache, insomnia, muscle tension, abdominal cramping, diaphoresis, n/v, you name it). Couldn't help staring at the clock/question counter, even though I'd heard it would just make me more anxious! LOTS of SATA, LOTS of pharm (weird things...with random, vague AE's), quite a bit of prioritization. One picture, one "data", no calculations. I was pretty sure that I was messing up all the pharm/prioritization, because I kept getting more! I hit "next" on question 75...and it was over! I didn't cry or dry heave; probably because I was in shock. I wasn't done! I had to answer more! Next (well, you know the drill): Came home. Started googling. Read all the threads/discussions. Tried to do the PVT, but it kept coming up "ready to send." Finally, at 6:47 (yes, I checked at 6:45!), I saw those two little words: "Delivery successful!" Oh my goodness. I didn't know if I would have the courage to actually try the "trick,"--but, of course, I didn't have the patience not to! ...filled out all the forms...took a deep breath...clicked the button....and: :) Still waiting to celebrate until I see my name on the BON website (does anyone know how fast the turnaround is in Maryland?), but I will definitely be sleeping a little easier tonight! Good luck to everyone!

Women's Health NP at VCU?
Thanks so much, UVA Grad Nursing! Do you know any details about VCU's program--like how long it is, if you can do parts online, or if you can do parts while working? I understand that the CNM and WHNP are often two different "tracks", but some of the schools I'm looking at (like Georgetown) prepare you to sit for both certification exams. It seemed (from what I've read) that VCU might offer a similar program, but I guess not! Thanks again!

Women's Health NP at VCU?
Hi all! I'm trying to find out more about the MSN programs at VCU (Virginia Commonwealth University). Their website doesn't really address most of my questions... Does anyone have any experience with the Women's Health program? Does it prepare you to be a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner, or is that a separate track? What about CNM? I would especially love to hear from any current student! Thanks so much!

Hopkins...Who Else is Applying?
Hey there, I started a thread for us future BSN students over here: https://allnurses.com/forums/f198/johns-hopkins-jhu-early-decision-354176.html Good luck!

Johns Hopkins/JHU Early Decision?
Hi all! I've been posting over in the graduate student forum, but since I only applied to the ABSN program, I thought I'd post over here to see if anyone else had heard yet! I got my call today (I'm in! Yay!), but I can tell from past threads that they make notification calls all week. So? What's the word? Who else has heard?

Johns Hopkins BSN/MSN 2009 Applicants!
I just got my call! I'm in!

Johns Hopkins BSN/MSN 2009 Applicants!
Congrats Aimee b!!

Johns Hopkins BSN/MSN 2009 Applicants!
Oh, congratulations Hopkins_undergrad! I'm so excited for you! And SO nervous for the rest of us! Thanks for sharing the news!
-
Johns Hopkins BSN/MSN 2009 Applicants!
Hopkins_undergrad: my interviewer confirmed that Hopkins does sometimes "defer" (she used another word, but I forget now!) applications; if you applied ED for Accelerated, for example, you can ask to be reconsidered for Traditional, too! I'm feeling so anxious--I jump every time my phone rings!

applying to JHU SON ABSN, any advice?
I saw all these new posts, and I thought someone had heard already! I agree with what's been said--any call is better than no call! The message boards from last year show the 9th being the earliest they called...that's Monday...gosh, wouldn't that be wonderful? I took my A&P Final Practical yesterday (I don't have to take the Lecture Final), so I don't even have that to distract myself with anymore! Good luck, everyone!

VCU accelerated summer 2009. Anyone hear anything yet?
I've only applied to one other school so far (I'll hear back Dec 15th!), but I would really love to go to VCU. I have NOT always known I wanted to go into nursing; my first degree is in Philosophy/Theology/History of Math & Science! I figured out nursing was my "calling" about two years ago...it's so weird to think that I'll know about nursing school within the next few months! What about you? Have you always known nursing was right for you? Do you have a prior degree--if so, when did you graduate? I've hear the GPA stats are different for instate/out of state, and though I live in Norfolk now, I'm still considered "out of state" .

VCU accelerated summer 2009. Anyone hear anything yet?
Gosh, wouldn't that be nice [to hear back w/i 6 weeks]?? When did you get your application in? I only FedEx'd mine right before Thanksgiving; I have SUCH a hard time "letting go" of applications; I keep rereading my essay and making last minute changes! I'm still finishing up prereq's (I have an A&P Practical today!), but, so far, I've gotten A's in all my prereq's, so hopefully that will help. Do you know any of the stats, i.e., how many apply/get in, what the average GPA is, etc.?

VCU accelerated summer 2009. Anyone hear anything yet?
Hi there! I applied to the accelerated program, too, but according to the website, we won't be hearing back until early February. Only the Traditional BS program hears back in early December. So don't worry! Best of luck :)!

Any other VCU Applicants?
I knew there had to be someone else out there! I mailed my application yesterday...the wait is terrible! Did you go in for an information session? If so, what did you think?

Any other VCU Applicants?
Hi everyone! I just wanted to see if there was anyone else out applying to VCU's Accelerated BSN program! I'm almost finished, but I'm still dreading the wait that will begin the moment I send my application in...:typing
