I'm about to start my first semester in the nursing program in January. I have been reading alot of discouraging things online about how many nurses hate their jobs and regret their chosen profession. My mom has been a RN for thirty years and keeps telling me to make sure this is what I want to do. Is nursing really that bad? Anyone out there love their job?

I'm not a nurse yet, so just take this with a grain of salt.
Nursing has a very high burnout rate, like a lot of healthcare professions. In reality, anyone can feel burnt out from their chosen career. However, I know quite a few nurses who wouldn't trade their job for the world. Just try to determine if nursing will make you feel that way or not.

Every job is good and bad. Don't let others moods or discouragement be the reason you do or don't choose a path. There will always be upset people. You choose your mood, nobody else does.
