I have been looking for job for months. No experience. I got my LVN license in September 2012. I have a potential/possible job offer from a home health. How can I verify that they are licensed to let LVN's work as home health nurse? Can I ask them that upfront?
I will grab the offer if ever coz I am desperate. They said I will have training/orientation $20 per hour - 12 hour shift, 36 hours/week.

Why would a home health agency not be allowed to employ LPNs? Next to LTC, home health is the next most employable work environment for an LPN.

When I read this, I was flabberagasted, it seemed weird. Then, I recalled that I myself have been scammed by 2 HHA (I was never paid and they both went out of business) that were fly-by-night operators. It made me want to remind folks, that as another nurse has posted- anyone with a laptop can start an 'agency'. To answer the question, though, my advice is to check for their business license, and etc. credentials if you have any doubt they are legit. And while you do that, verify with the licensing authority/scope of business agency/etc. whether they can indeed hire LPNs, or offer this service or that, or whatever. In the digital age, this stuff only takes minutes, now.
