Hey guys! This is for anyone applying to Holy Family ABSN 14-month cohort (second degree for non-nurses) for the Fall of 2021. It's a bit early but nows the time to ask questions and get to know each other, etc. Feel free to share anything on your mind !

My stats were: BS in psychology with a focus on life sciences. My undergrad GPA was right around a 3.4 and my prereqs were a 4.0. I also have experience as a facilitator in a mental health practicum working with children and 2 years of research experience in psychology. Good luck to everyone applying! I’ve heard some mixed reviews about the program so sort of anxious but we got it!!
Hey! I'll be starting in May too, at the Newtown campus!
@Payt2020 Hey! I am not sure as far as clinical sites go, I believe it's within a certain mile radius from the campus, a lot being in the city, as well as other sites in bucks, but I am not exactly sure. I am also from southwest of the city so I will be living at my brother's house closer to campus. It probably would be best to live near campus rather than the city because of rent prices and just the commute overall, I live in the city now and it is a pain to get out and back in and parking is an issue. But it is all personal preference if you want to experience city living, it is definitely possible! I just don't think it is possible to take public trans.

Also, for those who are not from the area, I can help with any questions about philly, I am from the suburbs, but currently living in the city. The full-time program is at a different location then the part-time, but both are in the NE philly suburbs. The newtown campus might be a little difficult to get to if you were to live in center city as it is about 35-40 minutes away. Good luck everyone!
Congrats on getting accepted! I'm not from the area and was recently accepted for the 14 month program for Fall 2021 as well, so I would love any insight on living around the school and what the general culture is like. I also think that would be a great idea to start a facebook group that way we can start meeting and sharing resources with one another!

Hey! Congrats on the acceptance! I'm planning on living near the campus but don't know much about the area since I live in a different state. Maybe we could all start a facebook group for those planning on attending the 14 month program in Fall 2021!

I live right in Bucks County and is about a 15 min drive from my house. I am a current student finishing up my bachelors degree in May 2021. I submitted my application on October 6 and took about a week for my acceptance letter.
Hi! Can we make a facebook group for the fall cohort group!? Let me know thanks

Hi Everyone,
I was recently accepted to the 14 month program in Newtown. I have two questions.
Does anyone know where clinicals typically take place for HFU? What are their partnerships, etc?
Do those of you not from the area plan on living on-campus or in the surrounding areas? I am from the most southeastern part of PA and have never been to bucks. I am trying to determine if I should live in newtown, philly, or attempt to live somewhere in between. I figured amtrak would take students from the newtown campus to and from philly but did not see a route when I looked.
Any help would be appreciated. Happy Holidays!
