I have been working in ICU (mostly cardiac) and let me give some advice: Whatever you do, stick out the year, then go do whatever else you want!
I'm actually going to have a baby this year and will probably go on disability soon, not sure if I will return to my floor or look for other opportunities (in this economy who knows?)
But I'm proud to say I stuck out a year in a hospital, oddly enough, the drs weren't what made the job hard. It's the other nurses. The ones who glare at you, act like you don't know anything. Scuffle off and say they're busy when you ask for help. I come from a team-player mentality. I believe if more nurses had that, the job would be so much better!

congrats on the one year accomplishment!
:ancong!:
the first year is not easy i'm barely on my first month! & already have learned that it is hard to stick to the team player mentality when no one has the same mentality... especially when being new.

Anyway, that was my somewhat happy rant.
