Hillsborough Community College Summer 2013

I know this seems silly, but has anyone ever applied without having all the pre-req's??

I was attending Galen until I found out Friday that USF is no longer taking their credits. It was really kinda stupid for me to go there since I have all my pre req's with the exception of college alge. I have enrolled in college alg, for classes starting tomorrow, but I hate to wait to apply until June. I know this seems crazy and I really doubt I would get in, but I figured what's the most that can happen...they say apply when the pre req's are done. I have a 3.73. Really wish I would have thought of quitting Galen earlier and would of had this math done!!

Anyone ever apply and get in with out all the pre req's ?? lol

I went to Galen for my LPN and started the RN program. I left mid 3rd quarter due to vehicle problems ...they took forever to let me know when I can come back. At that time, they had "Dean issues" going on and I guess I was last on their priority list. Anyway, it was the best thing that happened to me! I started HCC. The advisor did tell me I have to take everything over again and then apply once my pre-req are done. I highly dout they will accept you, but that just means you will have to apply again later! Eventually, you will get there! I can tell you I was NOT happy about having to repeat so many classes, but I feel like it was the best thing for me. It reinforced my knowledge, plus I learned more thing indepth than Galen taught us. While waiting to apply, I took all my general ed classes, so now I won't have to worry about them once I start nursing. I now have everything I need for my AS and/or AA (besides nursing classes, of course), and even most of general ed I need for my BSN. It seriously was the best thing that happened, even though it seemed horrible at the time. Just keep an awesome attitude, learn some new things, meet some new people, and get a 4.0 this time around

Keep in mind, you can only get into the LPN-RN transition class if you have been a LPN for less than 5 years. That is something I just recently found out.

I just dropped my application off last night!!!! I am so anxious and it hasn't even been 24 hours yet!!! lol Does your web advisor show that your application was received? I was wondering if they post that before 1/15 or if they wait until the dealine is over.

My web advisor shows that my application has been received though its saying that I need to turn in my hcc application and my pre reqs. Idk why it's saying that because I been did those things and when I call admissions they said everything has been received. I took my pre reqs at spc. I really hope that we get in the program. I did not know that you can only apply if you have been a LPN for less than 5 years. That makes me feel a little better. I wonder if there was a lot of applicants. I'm glad today is the deadline. So now the wait for a response, I wonder how long it will take to hear a reply. Fingers crossed :-)

I'm glad everything was OK for you! Does it show received under "Documents"? I checked mine and it doesn't show anything, yet. I know they must have got it because I dropped it off in person. I'm really, really anxious. lol Did you apply to SPC, as well?

My web advisor shows that my application has been received. Although, it states my HCC application, nursing pre reqs, and HS transcript have not been received. I don't know if I should call about this or not. Before dropping off my nursing application, I spoke with advising and they stated that every thing was good to go.
