I have decided to start a thread for HCC future nurses that are applying for class beginning 2015 of spring. I would like us all to be able to share and relate to one another, while experiencing this exciting moment. I know it may seem a little early but better sooner then later. This will be my last semester before I can apply to the program. I am registered to take micro with lab and humanities fall 2014. I will be able to submit my application in right after my grades are posted. The deadline for the 2015 spring class is June 1st if I am not mistaken. How is everyone else holding up?

Yay welcome izzy1234... ill change it to public. I had it on anyone can find it, but was a closed group. Anyone who wants to join I guess will join. Lol. Maybe they can learn from us and gain experience as well

I can't wait for orientation lol. I want to know everything now!!!

Also I read on one of the other groups that they recommended getting a littmann cardiology vs a littmann 2 se... Any thoughts?

Hey not sure of the seth. but in page 90 one of the current nursing student Juleby recommended Littman 2se..other than that have no idea of the difference..hope this it kinda help?..

Well from my understanding the littmann cardiologies are supposed to be even more sensitive as they are made to be used by cardiologists. I'm considering getting one of those just because I am paranoid about being able to hear. But they are a bigger price tag. The Littmann 2 SE run around 75-90$ and the Littmann Cardiology 3 runs around 150-170$$

I will most likely be going with the classic littman se 2. For $ purposes

Wow all these ppl who got in with lower gpas than some of the alternates.... thats strange. I'm grateful that I was accepted. But I'm very nervous about placement. And SILVACH- i dont have facebook hahah

Can't find the group.

Attention Alternates!

I spoke to a counselor this morning the cut off GPA for this pool was exactly a 3.4

They deduct .2 points off your overall pre-requisite GPA if you have more than 2 withdrawals on any of the courses (pre-requisites) which is what happened in my case. I ended up with a 3.3. So if you are an alternate please keep this in mind. Also if you want them to reevaluate your GPA please go in and personaly talk to a counselor, there where a couple of mistakes on GPA's this pool. Also turn in your alternate acceptance letters because spots are often opened.

I hope this helps and if you were not accepted or received an alternate spot please don't lose hope there are other options!

Good luck and once again Congratulations to all those who were recently accepted!

Yaalisa click on the link I provided it seems thats how everyone is finding it... im going to open the group up to the public

Wow that is something they should put on the nursing website because that is scary in my situation I ended up having exactly to withdrawal so I just got lucky that is so crazy thank you for sharing the information I'm sure this answered a lot of questions for most and 3.4 GPA cut off Wow so it looks like we have quite a bit of students with high GPA this semester

Not sure what the problem is, but when I use the link it doesn't let me log in. I enter my information and press log in & the screen goes back to enter your username and password. I've tried several times.
