I have decided to start a thread for HCC future nurses that are applying for class beginning 2015 of spring. I would like us all to be able to share and relate to one another, while experiencing this exciting moment. I know it may seem a little early but better sooner then later. This will be my last semester before I can apply to the program. I am registered to take micro with lab and humanities fall 2014. I will be able to submit my application in right after my grades are posted. The deadline for the 2015 spring class is June 1st if I am not mistaken. How is everyone else holding up?
I think Juianasmom might be on the right track..maybe it must be because she didn't take all of the pre-req at HCC and giving people who took all/some pre-req in HCC more preference..But don't give up Julianasmom u gonna get in..Just send in that appeal paper or do what is necessary! I'm cheering for u :)
I got in with a 3.43 pre req gpa and like a 3.5 overall gpa. I took all my classes at HCC. Can we use financial aid for book packages? I'm assuming we can charge them at the bookstore?
As for financial aid I believe we can charge it to book store. This semester I took out a sub loan from government so I can buy my books needed that financial aid doesnt cover, and to pay for the classes... how much is it exactly per semester, does anyone know? And @julby

The cost was posted on the HCC nursing website under program expenses. Tuition for the first semester(NP1) is $1050(in state), lab fee $215, and books $850. Looks like they use same books for NP2, so the second semester costs only tuition and lab. That's a lot, but much more affordable than USF, right?!

Great great ill look up the semesters.. looks like financial aid doesnt fully cover because books are so expensive. So the loan I took out will come in handy. It is way cheaped than usf. Im happy about that. Thank u zosan :)

Yes I am very confused as well, going to head out to the nursing office and speak to an advisor. My friend had a 5.2 and got accepted so we were both left with our heads scratching. I think it might have to do with how many credits a person has with HCC it only makes sense that they would give preference to someone who has been a student for a while over someone who wasn't an HCC student. Or perhaps they just miscalculated GPA's...it happens. Either way I will share what information they give me with you all tomorrow.
Congratulation to everyone who made it!!! Hard work sure pays off and you ladies and gents Rock -So happy for all of you.
