Hillsborough Community College - Spring 2014

Published

Hello all,

I wanted to start a thread for those applying to HCC's Spring 2014 nursing program. I am a stay at home mom. I know its early but I wanted to get as much info as possible. The deadline isn't until 6/1. I'm a current HCC student. My pre-req GPA is 3.57 (all A's 1 B and 1 C ), I'm hoping that this is good enough to get me a spot in the program.

What is everyone elses GPA? I heard its lower for the Spring.

MCB 1000/1000L is fine.

Hi KimWe:

I've heard from a few friends that most people have recieved thier letters of acceptance or alternate status at this point. For those that have congratulations!

Our cohort (Spring 2014) is wrapping up our first semester and we have many battle stories to tell. I wish all of you entering into the program good luck -- and a suggestion -- get "connected" on campus the best you can in the very beginning. SNA @HCC is a great start towards this end!

As a small antidote... your cohort will become your family. We started even almost a year before beginning classes on Allnurses socializing. We've become a great big family, and your cohort will be the same to you. Use them and help them to your very best ability. They truly are the key to success.

Hey All:

I just spent some time looking over "our thread" and everything we went through with the acceptance process, letters, orientation, and all that. With the perspective of our first semester almost over, it's kinda fun to see where we all are!

The evil part is that I know "620veee, Juleby, P90X3_Pro, jragghianti, Bethany726, rthompsonsp2014, and many others" personally now! Muhaha! :)

Love ya'll! Here's to NP II!

Yes I too have received my letter of acceptance,I cannot wait to finish this semester so I can start next semester. I have 3 great people who also were accepted and together we will surely succeed.

How is everyone holding up... im from 2015 spring thread and I wanted to check how everyone was feeling after thir first semester as a nursing student? I was thinking of taking 1 class on top of the nursing course so I can be full time instead of just the 10 credit for nursing. Is anyone her doing that? Please share your experience. What should I expect my first semester

Hello everyone,

I am applying for nursing, spring 2015. My prereq GPA is 3.67. I am looking for the application. I asked an advisor where to find it, she printed the wrong one & insisted it was correct. It clearly said this application is not for the nursing program. I've requested (again)my high school transcrpit & hcc says they have it, however, web advisor indicates they do not. Anyone else having trouble with this? Best wishes everyone.

My transcripts didn't show up online either. I went to the DM administration and told what was going on, then they fixed it. I enclosed a sealed transcripts again just in case, though.

Hello..Is anyone on the Plant City campus right now? I received my assignments and that is where I am being placed this August 2014. Any insight is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Does anyone know how the program is paid? Do we have to pay it all up front or do they break down the program fees in 4 for each semester? I was wondering because I surly don't have about 8k plus 1k for supplies and etc. Financial aid covers only so much at a time also.
