Hillsborough Community College Spring 2016 Applicants

Hi everyone!

I know it's a little early, but is anyone out there applying to HCC's Nursing program starting Spring 2016? I am, and I'm dying for this semester to be over so I can submit my app! Just wanted to start the discussion since no one else has!

So the grades are in...looks like I'm applying with a 3.38, I'm embarrassed...not feeling confident whatsoever. I tried so hard, got nothing but A's and B's...ughh, oh well. 😕

Don't get discouraged! I remember seeing in other blogs people who got accepted or at least were given an alternate seat. When are you tuning in the application ?

Yea I'm thinking I may get an alternate seat..maybe. My downfall is I am only able to do DM nights/weekends, so with an alternate seat it might be harder to trade with someone. Oh well, we'll see. I'm probably turning my app in today or tomorrow.

So I did not pass the teas :/ it was really hard for me.. I don't know what to do :/

Oh no!!! Well you could retake, but you obviously would have to wait to apply to the nursing program...since you have to wait 90 days between TEAS attempts. It is pretty hard...just try again, you can do it! Even if it means putting off nursing school.

Well guys, took my Teas today and passed!! Also made all A's this semester. I will be applying with a 3.48! I'm excited to turn in my application!

Hey everyone!!

I've been snooping on allnurses.com for a few months now and I FINALLY made a username so I could comment. :)

I'm applying for the Spring 2016 RN Program as well at HCC. I just finished Microbiology this spring and my GPA for prerequisite courses is 3.53... not as good as I'd like it to be but it'll have to do. I just bought a practice test book for the TEAS and will be taking it May 26th. I'm super nervous!

I honestly thought I had NO shot of getting into HCC's nursing program, so I met with someone at Keiser this morning. The tuition for EACH semester (4 total) is $8,000. NO WAY! That's going to be my last resort but that's crazy. After reading a few forums on here and seeing that people got in with a GPA not much higher than mine, I decided to go ahead and apply. It can't hurt.

I'm so happy to hear from others who are in the same boat as me! Do you all know how long it takes to get acceptance letters??

Are you all applying to other schools? I was looking at Pasco-Hernando State College but it's so FAR.

Hi guys! I will be applying for Spring 2016, I have already been in nursing school once (through 2 semesters) but not in this state. I unfortunately had to move because of my Husbands military orders. BUT I am hoping that I get in this time. My gpa will be a 3.48 if I make all A's this semester, which is what I am aiming for. I think you're the girl I was talking to in my Micro class (based on what your post said). How did you end up doing on that test?? I'm sure you did great. :)
