Hello,
I plan to attend to HCC's 2013 fall evening nursing program (applying in Jan). I am curious to see what people people's GPA is going in. I hear spring's is lower than fall's.
Thanks!
I ordered the dosage calculations book they use, Clinical Calculations with Apps, Kee & Marshall from Abe Books for $3.40, free shipping. I'm going to start working on calculations now because that's my weakness. The book is in perfect condition. I also ordered Fundamentals for Nursing from them for $4.00. It's an older version and I know I will need to get the newer version but it's a good start. Can't wait for orientation and finding out if I got Dale Mabry Mornings, keeping my fingers crossed.
Hey there...I see several different dosage calculations books on Abe and Amazon (same authors). Did you get the ISBN number for the book we should use? I just don't want to get the wrong version. :)
And the wait continues....
This is so frustrating; I wish HCC did not take so long to review all the fall 2013 applications. Now, every alternate will probably have to wait even longer than the alternates from last fall.
I really hope that all alternates receive their letters before June! So we can all enjoy our summer!:)

Have you spoken to them to see what the process is? Seems like it would be pretty cut and dry. Those that didn't turn in their acceptance letters by the due date would open up spots...some would be filled by those that gained a spot through the appeals process. The rest would be open to the alternates. Why are they reviewing all the applications again?
I am starting my pre-requisites this semester (Summer 2013) and plan on doing them all in two semesters - i would be done by the end of Fall 2013 semester and apply by January 15th deadline. I have registered for four courses this summer (14 credits). I know a lot of you have already done the pre-requisites so i wondered what your experience is as far as workload is concerned. What would be a realistic number of credits to be taken in one semester given that the admission is very competitive and I need a strong GPA? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Hello There Lala1717,
No, I have not spoken to them about the process, I am just assuming that it will probably take HCC longer to send the alternates their letters of acceptance or rejection. The reason why I am saying this is because in comparison to last fall HCC took longer to review all the nursing applications, and as a consequence the letters of acceptance were send out the second week of April (I am making this comparison to Fall 2012 that the acceptance letters were mailed out the last week of March). Because it took HHC two weeks longer than last year to review the applications, I think the alternates will probably have to also wait at least two weeks longer before they will hear anything from HCC.
I am sorry that I am babbling away, but I just want this wait to be over:cry:
Okay, so I'm very much so freaking out. Has anyone else received an email from HCC saying Financial Aid has been suspended? I by no means meet any of the requirements for that to even be possible. I'm calling as soon as I can tomorrow - but I'm ridiculously confused. This will only be my 5th semester coming up.

I ordered the same from Abe books. Great prices there and I want to be better prepared too. If that is possible. Orientation is next month. Wow!
