Hillsborough Community College Nursing - Spring 2018

Hello! I was wondering if anyone else is planning on applying to the HCC nursing program for the spring of 2018? I just finished this rough semester and I was hoping there would be other people on here that I can talk to about this upcoming goal! (:

You start your "clinicals" in class/lab so you can start learning some skills before you get to the hospital. You won't get to the hospital until a month after you start

Good information, I wasn't aware that the hospital clinicals would start soon after starting. Thanks!

Survived the storm! Now I just need to survive stressing over whether I get in for spring 2018 or not. Didn't make the cut for the fall... nervous to hear about this next round.

I know what you mean, it seems like it'll take forever to find out the outcome. Especially since HCC is closed until at least Friday.

I really hope so! I think it'll be a few more weeks though, I hope we know something by the end of September but I'll be checking my email daily just in case.

I hope everyone is safe and didn't suffer any major damage during the hurricane. Luckily no damage, flooding, or power loss here. Just patiently waiting to hear about the program! I would think we should be hearing any day now? I did get an email back from the program yesterday as I inquired about possible orientation dates. They are thinking the first week of November but its not definite. I'm hoping this means decisions will be made soon!

We are learning fundamentals in np1. I believe it's med-surg for np2, oby/ peds & psy for np3 and med surg again for np4

Do you know if we take pharm or patho?

There is one more week until the first week of October. I know someone said we should be receiving our letters then. Anyone else have been nervous lately?

Honestly I'm not too sure. I've seen some people say they received an email and others said they received letters but this was on previous hcc threads.

I think i remember reading that we were going to find out officially through our hawkmail accounts. They may have switched over to communicating strictly via email.
