Hillsborough Community College Nursing - Spring 2018

Published

Hello! I was wondering if anyone else is planning on applying to the HCC nursing program for the spring of 2018? I just finished this rough semester and I was hoping there would be other people on here that I can talk to about this upcoming goal! (:

Me too, I really hope I do get it in. Hopefully we will find out soon.

2017 Spring Applicants received their letter via email the first week of October last year. So crossing fingers that we will hear next week.

I was wondering if you think there could be a delay from hurricane irma?

I wonder if everyone will get emails the same day or will it be based on last names. I didn't think it would be so difficult to wait but it is not an easy task. I too have been checking my email several times a day, everyday.

Are you not taking classes this semester?

In the Spring 2017 forum, I read that almost everyone received their emails on the same day.

Good to know. At least we won't be waiting too long after we start receiving the emails for us all to know. Well here's to finding out next week!

I am not taking any classes this semester, which doesn't help at allí ½í¹‚ I debated if I should take one of the nursing electives but decided to take a break and study for the first semester of nursing school instead. My friend is a nurse and she gave me a few of her old books I've been reading them for a bit but still have too much time to think about getting into the program. What about you?

Yes actually I am. I am taking English 2, world himanities, and human nutrition. I took those classes so while I'm in the nursing program I can only focus on nursing as it most likely will be tedious or I can take the remaining prerequisites needed for the bachelor's program. After I graduate from the AS nursing program I would want to go straight into the bachelor's instead of taking needed prerequisites, so I'm trying to plan everything out smartly. I also took classes this semester that are needed for nursing but also for my AA degree, just incase I don't get into the nursing program even if I try twice then I would have also worked towards that.

Right now I'm taking Chemistry, Human Nutrition, Modern American History, and Visual Art for humanities. I wanted to get most of the classes for my AA out the way before the program starts. After this semester I will only have to take Stats and IDS to complete my AA.

That's actually really neat. I take human nutrition too as well and its not so bad

That is great! You're absolutely correct that having as many courses completed ahead of time will make nursing school that much more manageable. I have my AA already, so I will be focusing on the actual nursing program only but I would've loved to have taken nutrition which I heard is an interesting class. I'll maybe take it next summer. If I get accepted into the nursing program.
