Hillsborough Community College Fall 2017

Published

Is anyone else planning on applying for the Fall 2017 nursing program? I know it is really early, but I am just too excited. I want other people to share my excitement with!! :)

Checking in on everyone! How is the start of the semester going for everyone?

I applied for the program. I took my teas n passed lol not by much. So I'm taking ap 2 n college algebra this semester.

How about you? Have you taken the teas?

No. I have yet to take the TEAS. How was it? I'm only in micro lab this semester and I'm taking it online

It was good except the science part. You need to know a lot of the stuff from ap 1. Which I took last semester but I just went brain dead. I did good in all the other areas but in that one I did terrible. I asked the advisor if I should take it again and she said no. Admissions are only based off of gpa. You just have to pass the teas with a 60. She said it would a waste to retake it since I passed.

Have you taken any of the practice tests? I took one and got an overall 81. My lowest is English..

I think the practice test in the teas vi study guide and I got 80 in all the Test. English was more about which tense and correct grammar and which punctuation to use.

Would you say it's pretty similar in content? Was one harder than the other?

Hey guys!

I hope everyone is doing well. It's the first week of school with everything online (micro, soc, and ap2) and I'm trying to get as far ahead as I can while I can lol.

I actually had to meet with an advisor last Saturday for clarification about gpa acceptance for last year (which was a 3.286) and about the Teas- which I just registered to take In two weeks.

Even after meeting with with an advisor I still have a few unanswered questions... maybe y'all can help before I send out an email (fingers crossed).

Sooo here are some questions:::

1- Does anyone know a website where I can find any of the programs stats? Like HCCs grad rate, job placement %, nclex pass rates, etc. I know other programs have sites (for example: respiratory care info can be found on the CoArc website).

2- Does anyone know how labs work? Like are they scheduled randomly or would there be a set schedule in addition to the 3 days? Or maybe it's mixed in on one of the 3 days?

3- Would shadowing be necessary or recommended if possible?

4- does anyone know about the cpr classes HCC offers?

5- Were you able to use a calculator on the Teas 6?

Thanks in advance ❤

Things has been so hectic for me, but should be getting better. I was doing pull ups a few weeks back and opened my c-section incision. My husband injured his back last week, so I have been just taking care of him and my 3 month old. I find odd times during the day/night to study, when I can find time. But in total, I probably only studied like two hours. I took a practice test and made a 73 (prior to doing any studying). My mother in law is coming to visit from Tennessee, so I had to schedule my TEAS VI exam for January 18 (I just scheduled it last night). I am soo nervous because I hadn't studied much for it. I scored the lowest on Science. Sorry for venting!! Ahhh, I hope everyone had a Blessed Holiday!

im taking ap 2 online too this semester. And there is a pop up basic calculator that can be used.

I would say pretty similar. What it tells you to study in the guide is what is on the test.

Holy smokes!!! Sorry you had a rough few weeks. You have every reason to vent! Good luck on your TEAS, I'm on the east side of the state and going to see if I can take it here. Kaiser said I could but can only arrange it only 3 days in advance. I'm shooting for the 25th
