Hillsborough Community College Fall 2017

Published

Is anyone else planning on applying for the Fall 2017 nursing program? I know it is really early, but I am just too excited. I want other people to share my excitement with!! :)

Yeah, my guess it is a 3.5 as well. There are so many people with a 4.0 or a 3.8. So we'll see!

I looked at the schedule and counted the number of seats in each section and got 144..Not sure if that's an accurate way to determine number of slots or not

25 students per class

Two different advisors told me

Fall 2015 cutoff was 3.2.

Fall 2016 3.3

So hopefully if it increases it will only be by 0.1 again and 3.4 is a safe bet.

I hate this waiting game...

When the time comes. .. I remember they first sent out declined emails before acceptance.

I hate waiting too, lol. But try to keep busy because it can make you crazy! Take advantage and do a deep cleaning at home, go out with your kids, read an enjoyable book, etc. When nursing starts. . You'll have no time, haha. Even though I'm full time summer I have the summer planned out with pool days, hitting up the ymca, and doing a deep clean of the house, removing junk, etc. Itll make time fly!

Hi everyone, I haven't posted in a while but follow this thread almost everyday :) I currently work at a bank full-time and will probably have to quit unless I get the evening/weekend classes. I'm prepared for that but I will have to work at least part-time somewhere else. I was interested in getting my CNA certification and maybe work with that while in the program. I was interested on what you guys planned to do about work, if you planned to work. I also live in the Riverview area, close to Apollo Beach, so South Shore would be perfect for me, and there are so many clinics around here, it would be awesome to go to school and work super close to home.

I work PRN for Women's Care Florida, you guys let me know if you are working for flexible work! I basically make my own schedule, it is so nice. And I have my foot in the door in a clinical setting. So I will be working during non school hours, as much as I can. The pay is not too shabby, either. More than a typical front desk person in a doc office!

I like it OK. It's an older home and being new to the neighborhood, it sucks being new kid on the block again. I need frrriienndds lol

I was on campus the other day for an exam and it was nice :)

We are building in Riverview, 301/Big Bend area. So I am also in the Riverview area! I'm glad there are so many of us. Even if we aren't at the same location/same class, good to know there are people to study with!

Has anyone's prereqs from not received updated yet ?

Specializes in GYN Oncology, Post Surgical.

I think the cutoff will be around 3.5'ish.

No updates on my prereqs. It still says "under review" and I don't see my GPA, only the overall.

When I dropped off my application the lady who took my application said they're hoping to get letters out much sooner and they've been staying on top of the ones that had already been dropped off. So hopefully it won't be a super long wait!

I'm taking a full load this summer. Taking intro to humanities, Nutrition, statistics, and human development.

The kids get out of school next Friday, eeeeeeek, so I'll at least stay super busy during the wait.

OMG! You must be the wonder-woman! Stats and Nutrition are not easy classes (very demanding) taking it through the summer is even harder... and with 3 kids at home? lololol you got the power!!:roflmao:

What's everyone plan b ?

I turned mine in on May 5th and mine was just updated yesterday. But it will never show you your GPA. They have to go through those manually and individually. It will just stay under review or ASAP. As long as it shows your TEAS, your application, and the payment, it really wont change until they send out letters.

Girl, you crack me up and scare me at the same time. lol. I know stats will be demanding. During the summer I plan to commit 4-5 hours a day on homework/studying. Then hitting up the pools and summer activities with the kiddos. They are 10 and 6... so pretty self sufficient unless they are arguing during minecraft, lol.
