Hello everyone,

So my dream since I can remember has been to become a nurse; however, it seems as if it will never happen. I recently finished my pre-requisite courses to apply to the fall semester of the HCC nursing program. While I did not get any C's I made mostly B's :blink:earning A's in two classes and one lab. I realize this is not good enough since it puts my GPA at around a 3.38. Since I did not fail any of my classes, I don't believe I will be able to retake them. Is there any possible way to retake them? Or any way to increase my GPA since they mainly look at the pre-requisite courses? If not, what other options do I have for becoming a nurse? If anyone is out there who could offer any help it would be greatly appreciated. I will submit my application regardless but I don't have any high hopes of getting accepted, if there is anyway to increase my chances I would be so grateful to find out!

You will not need to wear uniforms to class times (at least you did not for SouthShore). You do need to wear uniform for clinicals days and that includes the clinical days you do in the lab on campus.

Where did you purchase your uniforms? What brand were they? I haven't found any scrubs that have the port wine color. There are a lot that are wine color but the color seems to differ with different brands. Also is there any other item you would suggest we purchase other than what's required?

As far as our uniform, I went to Uniform City on W. Kennedy BLVD. if you tell them that you are a HCC nursing student, they will know what you are looking for. They had a student discount (10%) mine is Grey's Anatomy professional wear by Barco and it was about $30 (before the discount and tax). I could find cheaper one but I could not find my size, so I had to get that one.

I got my textbook online so I didn't use a coupon. Hope somebody can email to you :)

Thanks! I actually ordered my scrubs online through Amazon. I ordered the Greys Anatomy scrubs as well. I am just waiting to get the pants. I may just go to the store directly and purchase another set. They are very comfortable.

Uall can try allhearts.com they have pretty cheap uniforms. This is where some of the other classes have gone

Just checked and all my documents are now recieved. With hcc transcript being waived. Ok now just waiting on letter of denial or acceptance or alternate seat.

My last name starts with S.

As you get your letters can you also please list your GPA so we know where the line for acceptance is being drawn at.

I logged into Blackboard and I had a notification stating students could charge books to financial aid from August 13th - 28th.

PC Nights and Weekends - Can you see your assignments in Blackboard? My course is available but I do not see the class syllabus. If any of the other campuses have received reading assignment for the first week will you please post.
