Hillsborough Community College-Fall 2014

Published

Hello everyone,

So my dream since I can remember has been to become a nurse; however, it seems as if it will never happen. I recently finished my pre-requisite courses to apply to the fall semester of the HCC nursing program. While I did not get any C's I made mostly B's :blink:earning A's in two classes and one lab. I realize this is not good enough since it puts my GPA at around a 3.38. Since I did not fail any of my classes, I don't believe I will be able to retake them. Is there any possible way to retake them? Or any way to increase my GPA since they mainly look at the pre-requisite courses? If not, what other options do I have for becoming a nurse? If anyone is out there who could offer any help it would be greatly appreciated. I will submit my application regardless but I don't have any high hopes of getting accepted, if there is anyway to increase my chances I would be so grateful to find out!

Can you email it to me at [email protected] thanks.

I was just looking for this page on facebook and I don't see it! I am going to Plant City nights and weekends. I don't think I've met any of you yet and I am new to this website as well! Nice to meet you all, I'm Alexa!

I also wanted to ask all of you if you knew whether or not we are to wear full uniforms to all classes or just to clinicals? Is anyone else going to Plant City nights and weekends that knows what we are doing the first day of class 8/26? Thank you!

Alexa

If it is not too much trouble, can you please send the coupon to me at [email protected]? Thanks, eitherway.

You will not need to wear uniforms to class times (at least you did not for SouthShore). You do need to wear uniform for clinicals days and that includes the clinical days you do in the lab on campus.

Hi Alexa, I will also be attending PC Nights and weekends. I am excited to get started.

No on the uniform to class, only clinicals. It was suggested we read Ch 28 Infection Control,Chapter 29 Vital Signs, and Ch 39 Hygiene, chapters can be located in your Fundamentals of Nursing textbook. Also read Med Calc book Chapters 1-11. We are going to hit the floor running. So skip the scrubs and wear running shoes :)

Do you have the books offered at orientation, because I was told that they would not be available until August, and I did not get any notices about the coupon or class.

Nice to meet you! Do you see anything on blackboard regarding what we need to read and such? I haven't seen anything online yet as you mentioned. Where did you receive this info? Thank you!

Also, is anyone else taking the CPR course on 8/4 dale mabry from 6-10?

I have seen stethoscopes in a wide range of prices. How much do you guys plan to spend on it?

@cane @ anne2michelle I sent the coupon through my hawkmail Let me know if you received it
