Anybody applying ...? =)
Has anyone heard anything about the Brandon hospital engagement? Also, I did hear that they were having a one day orientation for those that could not make the two day orientation. Not sure when that was or is taking place? I am hopeful that a spot might open up for Dale Mabry or Plant City days after all is said and done.
Good luck to the Brandon applicants. This whole process has clearly tested all of our patience!! :)
One other thing is anyone doing the tips program they have at HCC? It's a payment program for tuition. The deadline is approaching, but I can not register until my campus is confirmed. If the deadline passes by and you are not registered yet, does that for go your opportunity for the tips program? I may need to call and find out more.
Any help you can provide would be so helpful!
I don't know if this will help anyone but maybe it'll shed light on the topic for those worrying about financial aid/campus assignment/yadda yadda. I know, some may think that I should be grateful that I have my campus assignment. Sure, that's great...but I'm not able to apply for financial aid until August 8th. That's only 12 days before classes start. And that's only to APPLY/APPEAL. That doesn't mean I'll be getting my loan money then. I'm sure I'll wait another month after the appeal is done before I even seen that (IF I even do). To put it out there, I pull loans because I've only got a scholarship that pays about 60% of my tuition and nothing else. Books, any other supplies I need, and the other 40% of tuition I have to come up with. I don't qualify for any grants...of any kind. Since finding out I won't be able to apply for financial aid until August 8th, and that I will have to pay for my tuition, books, uniforms, all of the other things we need up front...I freaked a little bit. I'm not going to lie and say that I didn't worry about it. I seriously freaked. But now, I've stopped worrying about it. I've stopped letting it consume my life. If I didn't, I was going to make myself crazy. I'm sorry if this steps on anyone's toes...I don't really hold much back though. We all got into this program through hard work and dedication. Why should that hard work and dedication stop just because we got in? Nothing in life is worth having if you didn't have to put some work in to get there. I know many won't see it the way I do, and that's fine. But I busted my butt to get into this program. Now, whether I'm actually supposed to BE in this program, I'm not sure. Whether I'm supposed to become a nurse, I have no idea. But if I'm meant to be a nurse and if I'm meant to be in this program...somehow this is all going to work out. My best advice, don't let worrying consume your life. It's not going to make anything happen any quicker than if you weren't worrying. Don't burn yourself out on trying to get everything squared away before the program even starts.
Lee,
I ordered my titers test for chicken pox from that place you had suggested. I just ordered yesterday before the end of the business day so I should be receiving that form they send you today sometime. The process seems fairly simple so far. I called the minute clinic and they do not do the titers or the chicken pox vaccine there. Everything else you can do at the minute clinic;physical,TB, hep B (if you are doing that one), and Dtap. The only one that is covered under insurance is the Dtap vaccine. At least that's how my insurance is set up. If I have to get the chicken pox vaccine...does anybody know where you can get that done. The pinellas health department in CW is closed for renovations. So don't wast your time going there.

They said that there was no required reading before classes start, but if you are math-challenged, then it would be smart to start your medcalc book.
