Anybody applying ...? =)

Hi iharto27, unfortunally, I am not familiar with HCC appealing process. You can call Tampa Bay Workforce Alliance as a last resource. They have a program called WIA, that will pay for tuition and books for those who qualify, and provide $150 a month for gas. Their phone # is (813) 930-7465. Hope everything will be fine.

Yuyo1960, thank you so much for all the helpful tips. Question for you, I recently got a email from HCC telling me i reach my limited credit for financial aid, i was told i have to do an appeal but it's not guarantee that i will get approve. Do know anything about this process?

How many credits do you have?

Ihart027,

How many semesters has financial aid paid for

I looked into it and this is what I found, I'm sorry I asked the wrong question earlier:

A student working on a 2-year associate's degree would be eligible for a maximum of 3 years (6 semesters) of financial aid through FAFSA

I've got 40 something credits and I was denied financial aid for the summer. But they said it's because I was only enrolled in 3 credits. I have to appeal in July for this coming school year, so we'll see how much luck I have with that. I'm still using up my Bright Futures scholarship, now to see if I can somehow get those loans back!

Thanks everyone for the respond. I have about 70 credits which include transfers from other school, some of these credit was not paid for by financial aid but they said the maximum credit i can have to receive FAFSA is 60 (regardless if i paid for them or not). Therefore, i will have to appeal to the committee to approve FAFSA for the nursing program.

Does someone know if we have a specific color for the scrub sets? Or if can be any color ?

They will clarify this at the orientation and I believe it also states it in the Nursing Student Handbook online.

Can you let me know what happens with your appeal, I think I'm in the same boat with fafsa! :(

I will Calley, they suggest that i wait until the nursing department changes our status from applicant to enrolled (something like that), which the committee will take into consideration in the appealing process.

Thank you, I think they changed our statuses already, I'm not sure because I'm not good with webadvisor

I'm waiting on that, as well! I think once they change us, then they'll obviously see how much left we have to finish. Right now I'm listed as the pre-nursing or allied health...whatever that degree is called. And technically, I'm over for credits on that but no where close to being over for the ASN. So once you submit an appeal, I would assume (this could get me in trouble for even thinking this) that they'll approve it.

Who contacted y'all about fafsa being up, and needing to submit an appeal? I need to get in touch doth someone who knows what they're doing in financial aid at HCC because I've been up there twice with no luck of them knowing what's going on with my account
