Hillsborough Community College Fall 2011

Published

Hello all HCC Fall 2011 hopefuls! I have been following the Fall 2010 and Spring 2011 threads and thought maybe it was time to start Fall 2011 now that the application process has started.

I just turned my application in this past week and received my confirmation notice in the mail. Anyone else out there that has turned in their application?

What are your plans over the next 8 months to prepare for the first semester (provided we get in)?

This waiting is driving me nuts!!! I wish they would send the letters already!!! LOL

My documents are all received!! FINALLY!! Nursing prerequisites say received 3/10/2011. I think I was probably the last one to be evaluated, so lets hope for some letters this week. Hope to hear some good news starting soon.

Specializes in Addiction, psych.

All of my docs are finally showing up as received as well, 3/9/11. Hopefully this is it you guys!

A good friend of mine who is also awaiting her letter called the DM campus today and was told we should have a response by early April :(

The Health Science Dept. said we should be receiving them mid-March to mid-Apr. I hope mine comes mid march LOL considering my docs were complete in jan/feb. Happy waiting!

Specializes in Pediatrics, PICU, Mother Baby.
Shamanai, Me too.....gaaahhhhh this waiting is driving me bonkers. Just about the time I get it off my mind, someone asks me, "Have you gotten any news from the college?" The longer the wait, the more stressed I get about my GPA and everything else!!! What was you GPA if you don't mind me asking && what campus did you apply to?

sure. i applied to the DM campus with a 3.714. the wait is driving me insane. so much so that i just look and read up on other RN programs. I've taken to video games and everything to pass the time lol

Did anyone apply to Plant City for the night and weekend program? Good luck to everyone. The wait is making me crazy. I sure hope we get our letters soon.

* Raises hand * I applied to the PC campus for PM/weekend. But the DM campus is 10 min closer so if I get turned down the upside is I guess I can try for DM in the spring. We have 3 weeks to go, guys! Almost there. :)

I also applied to the PC night and weekend program. It sounds like we are going to have to wait a little longer. Everyone is saying that we are def not getting the letters until at least the end of March :(

It'll be here before you know it, Britsands. IDK if it's because I'm pregnant or what, but time lately has been flying for me. It felt like just last week I found out I was 11 weeks along, and now here I am starting my sixth month! Also, I confess hormones and a major case of nerves have left me confused about whether I'm really ready for this program.

I started this meandering path to nursing school ten years ago, and this is the closest I've ever come to it. But then I think about all the events converging this summer--the new baby, my daughter starting kindergarten, getting the home office prepped for a work at home spot--and I'm now starting to wonder if it's the right time to mix RN school in with everything else. I absolutely hate the thought of putting it off yet again, buuuuut....what if I flub my studies for lack of time and attention? I would equally hate to regret not giving RN school my 100% percent. Is anyone else having suffering similar doubts?

thanks markeyg i know that it will be here soon enough, but i am just like everyone else and ready for these letters to get here. i know they said the end of march, but i am really hoping to get it before spring break, because i will be out of town for the entire time.

i know if you have a lot on your plate right now, but i believe that if you really want it, you can do it. i have two children, a three year old and a five year old. my daughter is in kindergarten this year, and to tell you the truth, my house has calmed down. i thought it was going to be a lot for me but her being in school is actually easier. so rest assure that it will not be as bad as you think. a new baby is also a lot on your plate, but naptime is study time! lol we also own our own lawn care business. and running it out of the house is hectic, but it is possible not to let that get in the way of your studies. putting it off would def be easier for you, but if you really put your mind to it, i believe that you are guaranteed to succeed :)
