I've made a new thread for those accepted, and attending, any of the Hillsborough Community College Spring nursing programs for 2017.
Welcome, and congrats!!
I know I think we all are nervous but this program is going to weed out the weak hearted. Nursing is meant to be hard so we will be doing 95% of it on our own. I feel like since I am so hard on myself I won't have much of a life outside of my nursing family because we will become each other's family!!!
I took the CPR class at the collaboration center on Wednesday. The instructor was great, the class was fun. I had four NP4 nurses in the class recertifying with me. They laughed at how excited and energetic I was. They gave me a lot of information, some that made no sense right now. What I took away was that almost all of the classes have nothing to do with your teacher and everything to do with your study habits and what you do outside of class. They all agree if you are an A student you become a B student in nursing, and thing having a B is excellent. They also told me that NP1 and NP4 are the most expensive blocks. Clinicals are all what you make them to be. Dale Mabry has redone a training center, everyone eventually has to go there. They said it is up to date and a better representation for simulation work. They all go to Southshore campus. I'm excited, and nervous now! Oh and try not to waive any immunizations, if you do you may have trouble finding a clinical hospital that will take you.
Thanks for the info I only need one titer the Varicella which I'm doing the titer instead of the actually two does vaccience because of how expensive it is. However I'm starting everything the end of this month after the orientation so I will have it all
knocked out before classes start come January. I know they felt the same way first starting but we too won't be as excited once the hard work actually starts I know from hearing my sister in law and step mom talk about it. On a good note we have orientation in another week next Monday!!!! I will be there early so that I find where we are going to be.
Have any of you tried to sign up for our class yet? If so, is it letting you register for it? I tried but it gives me 2 red notices at the top.
One says " Restricted to Dale Mabry-evening cohort Nursing Majors", and the other says "NUR1213c-93848: Failed Section registration restriction rules".
I just want to know if it is only me it's doing that to or is it the system that is still not ready yet?
I
See I was under the impression that financial aid is per degree because one financial aid person tells me one thing the other one told me another I guess I will wait and see. As for trying to register mine said the same and I actually called Pam out nursing instructor over everything she said wait to try tonight or tomorrow morning S they are getting it together.
