Hello! I will be starting the Spring/2017 program at the Dale Mabry campus in the evenings. I am just wondering if anyone else here is also? I don't know anyone that has knowledge about the HCC nursing program and am hoping to find people that can help with any extra info. I have done everything required and now I am just waiting for the orientation. I am nervous and excited for this to start. Does anyone have an idea of the cost for all of the books we will need for the first semester?

Hi Maricela I am also going to Dale Mabry evenings so we can be study buddies also! I have done everything required also and I think they give us vochers for books so that isn't a bad problem.

Hi. I have Dale Mabry afternoons. I asked about books for nursing school at Books and More(this is a link to their website), which is the bookstore on Lois and MLK that sells HCC textbooks cheaper than HCC, and also buys back books for more than HCC will pay you (and if you have financial aid, it can be used there during a certain time period). The woman said that for the nursing program they sell a box of all required materials. The box is over $600. There are also other materials that they recommend, but aren't required. I have no doubt I will be purchasing those as well, because that is just what I do.

Omg thank you so much for that it really will help a lot but I heard Hcc gives out vochers for books so that everything is covered from previous posts at Hcc. I'm assuming the extras will be out of pocket or financial aid that is remaining but I will also buy them to help me succeed a lot better.

I think the voucher works as a discount or something. I remember reading about it in another feed.
