i,m a RN from Germany
i have the NCLEX since March 2004
i have the Visa Screen Certificate since August 15 2004
TSE ok.
TOEFL and TWE ok.
i have the Ohio RN license !
and i have a problem , i started my process with one agency in Florida
in the beginning of September 2003. (15 months ago)
My petition for the I-140 is not filed yet, the reason for that was the huge backlog in Texas. In August 2004 the Agency said to me, they will open an
office in Vermont jurisdiction ( due to the short backlog ) in order to speed up the process for the petition.
but nothing happened until now, they only extend the information from one month to the next, first they said they will open in December , now in January and in January i guess in March and however, so ,i dont trust them any more now....
Do you have any suggestion what i can do from now on , because i acctualy meet all requirements to work as a RN in U.S.
I don,t want loose more time with them !!!!
My idea is, if i can find a Job in Vermont Jurisdiction, does not matter where
i only want that my process will finaly start . do you have any suggestion where and how i can start the procedure ?
Thank you very much !

Have you actually signed a contract with that other agency? If so, read the fine print of it, and see what it says if you back out of it.
If you can, I would look for a dirct hire position on your own. That would be your fastest...................just look for a state that is covered by Vermont.
Good luck...............

There are so many RN positions available in Vermont. The Vermont RN license is fairly inexpensive. I am not positive, but I think it is around $80 every 2 years. There are jobs galore in the city and rural areas. Vt nurses make about $25 to $35/hour depending on the need in the area. Good luck. You can PM me if you want more detailed info.

thank you very much for your respond !
yes to look for a job in Vermont or closed states, is a good idea , but do you know an address where i can look special for RN ?
What specialty are you looking for? Big city or small? Alot of snow or a little?
Big teaching facility or small community hospital?
THese are just a few questions that you need to answer for me...........

Did you have trouble with your credit evaluation?
I am german nurse, too, living in MA. I will register for CGFNS next month but the paperwork is so awful.
There is an agency "pm recruitment" located in Hamburg. Perhaps they will be able to help as they have contacts to a lot of hospitals in the US.

Why are you writing the CGFNS exam? You can easily just write NCLEX for NY, and then endorse if MA wouldn't let you write it directly. The CGFNS exam is "a pain" for most nurses to take and most states do not actually require the exam, just the credentials evaluation.
And remember that the agencies do not give their services for free, they will be taking a cut of your salary one way or another.
Hi i did not have any troubble with CES , the only bad thing was it took 9 months to issue the report.
i dont have the CGFNS exam either..
for me is ok , does not matter where , i think big city will be better and also a big facility is ok , what ever ...
i dont mind the snow ...
thanks
