Just wondering who else is applying for HCC CNA to LVN transition program for Spring 2015?
Thanks so much @Wilkinschic, LVN & @MegantheCNA91..! Unfortunately my appointment for fingerprinting is on Monday the 15th because most of the appointments were full. But I will try to see if I can get an earlier appointment, I don't have anything on my record so I should be good I'm just worried on how soon it would be sent to BON.
Jasmine, you may want to call them, when you finger printed did tou get the ok from tye BON to sit for tye NCLEX, because if so, you will meed that letter. I could be wrong...but call the sxhool to see if your name is on the list of already having the finger prints done. Stephanie is who you'd ask.
@smartypants22 Congrats on completing your course!!!! I can't wait until I get there!!! Can you give a little insight on what's to be expected? Is it only 3 semesters, Is this the month you graduate? Will there be a lot of money out of pocket before fin aid kick in to pay for classes? How was the courses in the clinical process? I hope I'm not overwhelming you with all my questions...i just have a lot of excitement and nervousness at the same time! lol
@Wilkinschic, thank you. Yes, it is only 3 semesters, summer included (and summer is only 12 weeks, compared to 16 for spring and fall semesters, if you can make it through the summer semester, you can make it through anything!). Technically, the graduation ceremony for HCC is only once a year, which is when you wear your cap and gown and walk with the rest of the HCC's. Tomorrow for me will just be a pinning which is when you make the transition from student vocational nurse to graduate vocational nurse. As you may already know, they want the money for the uniform, and nurse supplies right away, so that's something to pay for out of pocket. Also for your physical, shots, and background check.
The hardest classes for me were pharmacology and medical surgical nursing, make sure you have a lot time to study for those classes. I'm not sure what you mean by "courses in the clinical process", but clinicals were fun, especially when you get to the 2nd level (summer semester) and start giving meds and shots. I don't mind answering questions, after all I was where you are this time last year.
AWWWWE!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I'm so excited! So are you done in DECEMBER, or do you have to wait til next year? Can you start working after your pinning? I have so many questions but I dont want you to be like omg this girl gettin on my nerves!! Lol I thought clinicals were a class...are there no clinicals in the first semester? Will my family miss me from studying so much for that entire year? What are the hours, do they differ each semester? I was told about getting a nurses kit...what the world is in a nursing kit? There is so much money to come out of pocket..but I'm not complaining at all...i think I just have a lot of questions...lol...i think it's all due to my excitement!!! tehehehee...im sorry if im going on and on!! I'm just excited! :)
