HFCC Winter 2017

I'm wondering if that is the reason why it's taking so long to receive our letters? ---------------- told me that the letters are mailed out early September but we're half way through.

I think they knew the end of August this was going, but we weren't told until Sept 7th that they were closing for sure. Admissions have been emailing me back and forth regarding my application. My question, how the heck are they going to find enough instructors, clinical instructors and clinical placements for all these students?

So does that mean that ITT students get priority and the people that applied for Winter 2017 may now not get a spot?

I really hope not. I know there were some students who were literally weeks away from being done their entire program. I haven't heard of any other school at this time that is helping Canton students from ITT. I would hold out another few days and then call the school and ask if the letters were sent out. I wouldn't mention the ITT students and see what they say. I know there are students who are going to just discharge their loans and get out of nursing altogether. I do not think it is fair to have ITT students bump others to get into HFCC. I know myself, they were looking to jump me into second year due to my previous nursing experience. Did you apply at other schools other than HFCC?

How many people were in your program? No, I did not. They go based off of "points" and I had quite a few, so I wasn't too worried

I was just starting and there were 30 of us. The section prior had at least 25 and it continues for a two year span. You are looking at at least 200 students who are trying to get into a school to finish their education; which makes me think they are just opening another section or deferring students to September. I would just like them to be honest. Most of the ITT students are very nervous about getting screwed over like we did with ITT.

I called the nursing office and they said that we should hear back later this week, and if not, early next week and that they are not placing ITT students before other students

yeah, that is really unfortunate what happened! I feel like they could even put you guys further ahead since you already have some nursing done

I have the feeling they honestly do not know what to do at this point. It is going to be a giant *********** for everyone involved, from current to future students.

Oh my goodness, I hope they let us know their decisions tomorrow! I'm way too anxious

You still didn't get it? I hate that waiting feeling! HFCC is having the ITT students come on Monday afternoon to test out and I think do a skills lab. OCC also is reaching out to try and help us. I will cross my fingers for you that you hear soon, and that I will be starting with you in Jan!
