Hello Everyone,

Just thought Id make a thread to talk to any other HFCC Winter 2015 students. I was one of the last people on the wait list, and should be in the winter 2015 students. Any others that are on the wait list or anyone that applied?

Would love to talk to you guys.

No nothing yet.... No acceptance and no denial... Just nothing... When does the office close....? Will I just have to wait until Monday?? I thought today all acceptances and rejections would be emailed out!

Im sorry, on the Facebook page for HFCC Health Careers and Nursing Admission, someone commented saying alternates and rejections will be sent out later. I would call on Monday if I were you. I hope by now you received something. People are still getting emails now, from what I saw on Facebook.

What does alternate mean?? I'm shocked I didn't get in… I have my bachelors, i scored a 92 on the HESI, had volunteering hours….For the competitive portion, I would have thought I was good enough..

Unless there really weren't that many spots at all for the competitive admits… My friend was doing the competitive admit also… and she hasn't received anything either… I'm surprised they emailed acceptances but are mailing denials… Isn't the acceptance a more formal thing, whereas denials are less formal and can just be emailed..

They are also mailing out the acceptance letters too. But they also sent out emails too. I only know people who were on the waitlist, who got in. Maybe they are going to fill up the waitlisted people than do the competitive selections? Unless some people that were under selective admissions already got their letters.

Yeah, that's what I'm wondering about... I checked the fb account also and it just seems like everyone who got their emails of acceptance were just wait listed students... I'm wondering if any selective people got in... Because if not, what was the point of starting selective admissions when there were still so many wait listed students waiting to get in.... Feel so bummed right now!

Don't feel bummed out xxnursexutie. Sorry I'm late responding, but yes as Bubbles87 stated, I was a waitlisted student as well. As far as being bummed out, I think that's a little premature. From what we're seeing, only the waitlisters were contacted this week. I personally know people who were applying competitively, and none of them have heard anything either. They are probably shoring up the waitlist people, confirming a yes or no from them which is bring done now, with those who made it on the point system being notified next week. Be positive, I'm sure you'll get your acceptance letter next week...keep the faith

By the way, I believe there were approximately 80 people left on the waitlist. And if in not mistaken, there around 132 slots with the new format, (reduced from 160 in the old waitlist format). And who knows, sometimes people move, change majors, postpone their spot, etc. Additional spots may become available, which would further increase those that want a slot now

You have no idea how much you lifted my spirit art dozier! I really hope you're right!! And I know I can always apply again for next fall, but being it that I already have my bachelors, I feel like I've wasted so much time already (was doing pre-med during undergrad). And I knowwww that I can only do something health related because it's the only thing that interests me! Thanks for the positiveness! Wishing/praying for the best!!

I agree with art dozier, xxnursexutie. Just wait and see what happens. I really do think only the wait listed people got offered acceptance letters so far. I bet they are still waiting on how many people will accept the offer, before moving on and sending out the selectives acceptance letters. With all the volunteer hours, and classes, I bet you will be accepted. I know we have to turn in our acceptance letters, by the 26th. (at least thats what my email says), so maybe wait and see if they send you anything afterwards.

As art dozier said, I think there were less than a hundred people on the wait list, so I believe there is still hope.

hello all,

I received my invitation email to the program. I was on the waitlist. Everyone on the waitlist will be invited first. The orientation meeting will be October 13. I'm excited and ready to get started.
