Hi,
I am doing my pre-reqs to enter ADN program in HFCC.I just talked with nursing department advisor regarding the net test. She was saying it has math and english comprehension and personality assessment questions.
But when i enquired in the learning lab, they were saying it was no longer NET format, they follow HESI format but only with math and english comprehension.
So i am confused in preparing for the exam.Did anyone take the entrance exam in HFCC recently. Please help me on the format.Thanks.

I took the test in Jan. It was not a big deal. Reading comprehension, grammar, math- decimals, mixed fractions, measurements. We did not have to answer any personality questions.
I am sure whatever you have studied for the NET will prepare you for Hesi as well.
Thanks lego55.
I have been waiting someone to answer this and u did a great favor relieving my presssure.
I am on my right path. Thanks again.

Is their a vocab section on the NAT or is it just math and reading? Thanks!
The test includes Reading comprehension: word meanings, conclusions, implications, understanding, Grammar, Vocab & general knowledge. You read a few paragraphs and it will ask you what is the main idea or what is implied when they say ...
Are any of you already on the waitlist, is it really 3 years? By the way, what is the passing score on the NAT, does it give you two scores, one for the reading and the other for the math? on the HFCC website it says you need a 65%, but I don't know if thats up to date.
Thanks!
It isn't the NET, they switched to the HESI and you need 75% or more in each part. I got on the wait list in Jan '11. My # is around 840 and they take 320 people a year. So, 3 years sounds right.
Lego,
Can u suggest any study materials to prepare for Hfcc nursing entrance.
especially for English section.
Thanks.
There should be a practice book for sale in the bookstore. Don't know what it is called. There isn't much but you can try this site to get an idea:
http://www.nursing-exams.ca/practice/readingcomp.html
Also, you could try the learning lab. Hope this helps. When are you taking the exam?
What were your scores on the HESI, for math, reading, vocab/grammar? Which sections did you find the toughest?
In the 90's for English/reading parts and math 88%. For me, math is hard, but the test isn't that bad. Overall I got a 92%.
That's good to hear, I take my NAT in July. Are you just waiting for the program, or are you still taking pre-reqs? Where do you plan on doing your RN-BSN? I am thinking Madonna.
