hi there,
welcome aboard!! could you tell us a little about yourself!! you're gonna love it here!!
glad to have you here!!
I've been a nurse for a few years, went through a training-preceptorship program after nursing school. It was a 10 month program. I've been a full time staff nurse for a year and a half. It has been one long learning experience. There were 6 new RN's from my 10 month class new to our Critical Care Unit. They are allways pushing us to learn. We are charge, transport nurses, and go to most of the codes. I've left in tears quite a few days, but could not think of anything I would rather do.... I had been a monitor tech on the unit while in nursing school. Tell me about yourself...

I was a nursing assistant for four months, an LVN a looong time, and have been an RN twenty years. I've been a CCRN 18 years, and BSN for 12.
I know what you mean about not wanting to do anything else.
It seems now my colleagues like to assign me to alert ventilated patients and those whos family has lots of questions.
We truly care about our patients and each other on our unit.
How big is your unit? Do you havd a CNS?
Does your hospital do transplants? beating heart surgery?
Do you have an intensivist?
