Hey, does anyone know?

Hey. I'm such a retard. I totally forgot to mention that I made the Dean's List a couple semesters ago at my school on my supporting statement for UTMB. My mom said not to worry though b/c the Dean puts like a gold seal or something on your transcript. Is this true? I could just kick myself for not mentioning that. Oh well, there's nothing I can do about it now...:o

words like "retard" hurt (:

:) I wish you the best in your nursing career. :)

Besides, retards dont make deans list. You are NOT a retard. :)

I am not sure about the seal. I have been on the deans list and presidents list all year long.......interesting you ask, because I didn't put that on my application either, but it was kind of obvious since they had my transcripts. Not sure what to say. Can you submit a new application and take the other one out?

I have applied at UTMB for Fall 2006. I don't know about the seal from the dean; however, I did mention my being on the Dean's List and sent a copy of my Phi Theta Kappa (honor society) certificate. I wish us both luck. Lord knows that I already have an ulcer while waiting for news! :p :p

On my transcipts, it states "Deans List" next to each semester attended. For example, it states Spring of 2004--Student on Dean's List, and then goes on to state my courses and the corresponding grades.

I hope this helps:)

I've made Dean's AND Chancellor's (probably same as the President's) Lists. I wish it was on MY transcript. (Does that make me a snob? That I want it on there? Can't help it - I worked my butt off!)

Anyway - to the OP - they have your grades. Cutoffs for those lists are pretty much the same across the board; they'll figure it out. I wouldn't let it bother you too much.

BTW - GOOD JOB!!!

Hey there! No you are NOT being a snob. I thought the same thing at one time. When I recieved the award letter with an invitation to the Honor Society Program, I told my hubby, "I'm not going....I'll feel stupid.....I'll be the oldest one there.......etc......" Well, he dragged me kicking and screaming to this thing because he said I had worked hard for it and deserved the recognition. I am so glad he did. Not only was it a very nicely catered event, but at the end of the evening, I felt good about myself.....for once (LOL). Besides, I had a friend of mine that works in HR tell me that anything extra like that on a resume' certainly doesn't hurt. :balloons:

P.S. You guys are scaring me.....there's so few student slots available, yet so many well-deserving applicants. Geeesh. :uhoh3:
