Hesi scores for Kingwood Spring 2011

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hi everyone. Yesterday I took the Hesi test at Kingwood. I made a 11.5652. I pray this will be good enough so I can get into the spring 2011 RN program at Kingwood College. If you have taken the Hesi already could you all let me know what you made on it and if you think this score is good enough. Feel free to post your Hesi scores and your thoughts on this thread. Good luck to all of you! :nurse:

Does anyone have a clue as to what the cut off is for Kingwood College for the RN program starting in the spring? I heard last year the cut off was 11.4 and up. I pray to God it is that or 11.5 and up. I made a 11.57 and I hope that is good enough to get accepted into the program! Say a prayer for me please, I am praying for you all too.

Sounds like your score will be high enough....I am about to graduate so I can't recall what my exact score was but I do remember that North Harris, Tomball, and Kingwood had cut-offs that were lower (11.3ish) whereas Woodlands had a high cutoff (11.7). But, I don't think that the scores correlate to success in Nursing school. I've seen alot of people who probably scored every well not make it because the tests are a different way of thinking. My best advice for incoming students is before each test find some NCLEX books (I always go to Barnes and Nobles and find myself a comfy spot) and go through the questions because the format of the question and learning how to weed out the incorrect answers is key to success. Also, don't feed into your classmates negativity and "someone in 3rd semester said......" ; this will only mess with your psyche.

Good luck.

Hi everyone. I passed my exam 2 weeks ago 82% average. Thanks A lot to everyone who wrote on the site all those small tips were very useful!! In my turn I wish everyone a good luck and there are several tips that I have: limit your time- the actual test has five more additional questions in evry chapter it is not like in a book. (it was my first surprise). Limit your time yourself as they will give you 4 hours and you have to manage your time sucessfully and you can spend 2 hours for math and 15 minutes for anatomy. There is no official break if you will leave for break the time will not stop. English is pretty simple, vocabulary- study the whole list that is the the textbook (such term as overt, feasible), math - conversion, ratio, inch, oz-ml, the calculator is in the program. Science: chemistry basic- atom structure, solubility, acidity, enzymes, proteins structure; anatomy and physiology - use your anatomy notes, (I used the sceince test for enterance exam for nurses KAPLAN) and all the tips on book just follow it - lymphatic system: hormones 2 or 3 questions, heart. Biology structure DNA, RNA, Mitosis, Meosis all stages what you have at the end of each process, trascription, translation, genes. Practice, practice, practice. Good luck to everyone.

Damn! I clicked on the link extremely quickly thinking it was the HESI for the LVN entrance because I am wondering the same thing for that application!

My sister did the RN transition at Montgomery about 3 years ago and she said nobody in her class was lower than 11.5, but that they had almost double the applicants of the previous few years for some reason.

She made 11.51 and was accepted so I think you will be fine. Typically Montgomery is a little more picky than Kingwood.

And as always, GOOD LUCK! :D

I made an 11.34 and found out that the cut-off for the QUEST was 10.6 and the transition program was 10 points....i guess the added sections have been throwing people off. I am not sure if I should take it again? Any suggestions will help.
