I have not used the Suzanne's technique for passing Hesi. However, as a former Hesi taker, yes I too was overwhelmed by the amound of advise others have provided in how to pass it.
In truth, Hesi is mostly critical thinking questions, similar to NCLEX. The only advice I can give is to continue what you are doing. Practicing the questions are a definite plus because you are forced to think critically, as well as test your basic knowledge.
Reading those bold boxes in your Hesi book is a must, as I have learned from experience. They're like clues to help you further critically think about the patient's condition and what must be needed to answer the question.
The medication's side effects are important in Hesi. In your flash cards, jotting down special things about the diseases should also help.
Good luck!! Keep us posted!:typing
I took the HESI exit exam today and passed on the first attempt. We hired someone from HESI to come in and do a three day HESI review. Did that help me? Probably not...I also went to the elsevier website and purchased (for 69 dollars) the practice HESI exams and quizzes. I answered every single question on those things at LEAST once. I think if you can figure out how to take the exam, you will be fine.
I know I am responding late.I took hesi 3 times and the third time I passed with 967. I paid for the hesi practest that cost 70 dollars and was well worth it. Continue to do practice questions as many as possible. My first score was 639 I did Suzanne's plan and score went up to 837!!! My mistake was second guessing myself on second try. keep doing practice questions!!!!!
i think this is the [color=#003399]http://evolve.elsevier.com/staticpages/s_login.html link. if not google elsevier web site.

I was wondering if anyone has followed suzanne's first tip for passing the exit hesi and did it work? I want to be able to pass this thing first time around. our test is october 22. I am currently doing nclex questions on every system and i make notecards for things i miss. is the hesi content based? I have heard different stories and then i have had people tell me they passed without studying and there was no way to study for it and that if you are not a good test taker, you will never pass it no matter how much content you know. I have read that the hint boxes are helpful so I am making notecards of those as well. If anyone could give me pointers on how to effectively prepare for the exit hesi, I would appreciate it. I am doing 100 questions a day as well from my saunders cd and nclex 4000.
Thank you
