I am a new nurse currently working in an ortho hospital, however, I would really like to work in pacu. How can I increase my chances of getting hired in pacu? Thanks
  2. Good to hear that because I ,too, will be starting on an all ortho floor in a week. What's the patient:nurse ratio where you work? I was told I wouldn't have more than 6 patients on the 3-11pm shift. I am really anxious to get started!
  3. Hello everyone, In two weeks I will start my first RN job on an ortho floor. Just wondering what would be considered a safe patient:nurse ratio? Also, to have an edge is there anything I should know more about before I start on the floor. For example, special machines for ortho patients. Thanks in advance
  4. I recently interviewed with a hca hospital in Houston and was offered 23.26 an hour.I was told that it was an evening(3-11pm) shift differential but wasn't told the amount. Does anyone know the shift differential for an evening shift at hca hospital? Thanks
  5. After waiting almost three weeks to receive att it has finally arrived. Now I'm super nervous it is finally real I will be taking nclex next month.:sofahider
  6. Shucks... I am still waiting on att. I was told i would receive it within 10 days and it has been 15 days. Tbon rep told me everything has been submitted and don't know why I haven't been approved. Which makes me all the more anxious. By the way they aren't the nicest people to have to talk to. I cant seem to get in touch with a supervisor all Im getting is a nervewrecking voicemail.:smackingf
  7. Same here. I am still anxiously awaiting my att as well. I am starting to get frustrated. I have called TBON several times but unable to get answers.aaaaarrrrrggghhh:banghead:
  8. i think this is the [color=#003399]http://evolve.elsevier.com/staticpages/s_login.html link. if not google elsevier web site.
  9. I know I am responding late.I took hesi 3 times and the third time I passed with 967. I paid for the hesi practest that cost 70 dollars and was well worth it. Continue to do practice questions as many as possible. My first score was 639 I did Suzanne's plan and score went up to 837!!! My mistake was second guessing myself on second try. keep doing practice questions!!!!!
  10. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! How did you study for it?
  11. Yeah they are different. I just purchased the hesi practest from evolve website. Anything else you can think of please let me know. Thanks.
  12. HESI has become a THORN in my side. I made a 639 the first time and an 837 the second time. Even though thats a huge improvement it just wasn't enough. My school requires an 880 with 3 chances. I pray the third time is the charm. I did Saunders like Suzanne suggested also kaplan questions. I was doing 100 questions a day most days. Now Im going to do 300 questions a day. Im not giving up hope.
  13. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:ancong!:
  14. Hello everyone. I took hesi exit exam today and didn't make the required 880 to pass. Anyone have any ideas how to better prepare for the hesi test. I have about a month to prepare. I want definitely want to pass the second time around. Thanks
