Hello!
Just wondering if anyone has taken the Block 1 HESI Exit Exam before. Mine is scheduled for Monday, May 3rd, but our teachers haven't really given us much information about it. Anyone have any info as to what the heck is on it?
Thanks!

By Block 1 do you mean fundamentals / intro to nursing?

I have taken it (I actually just took the HESI for block 2 today lol) and what exactly do you want to know? I dont remember exactly what was on it I just remember there are a lot of priority questions basically asking what do you do first in whatever situation. I did pretty well on it my best piece of advice would be to remember you ABC's (im pretty sure thats what your instructors have already told you lol) and safety. Anyway good luck :)!

How did you study for the block 2 HESI exam? Anything I should focus on?
I remember feeling like I was walking in blindly to the block 1 HESI because our school did nothing to prep us. When I asked about study materials, they said "just review what we've done in this block so far". Not very helpful. I did alright, thankfully
Thx in advance for your advice.
I didnt really prep for it. They kinda just throw us in there blindly also. I would just go back through all of the systems and reveiw nursing interventions for the different diseases, thats about all I did and it helped. Good luck!

Evolve writes the Hesi and they have a really good NCLEX-RN study guide w/ cd rom that mimicks the Hesi to a T! It is about $40 at Barnes and Noble (the book is thin and blue with Hesi written in white on the top), but once you load the cd-rom on your computer, you don't need it to run the program (so a few students could share...) Anyway, the cd-rom breaks the Hesi down into chunks, one of which is Nursing Fundamentals. So yes, you can prepare for the Hesi and do well. I've scored over 99% on my last two (and yes, I offer tutoring)!

Trina0606, you must be in the day program lpn program at gateway? I am in afternoon. We had ours Wed. I literally closed my eyes when I hit that button to get my score...LOL!:)
Yes, there were a lot of priority questions. I also had several scope of practice and delegation questions. THere were a couple of anatomy questions as well. I purchased the HESI book that messagern suggested. It is a good book to study from in general. I just took the quizzes on the CD over and over as well as the Saunder's Nclex cd. That is pretty much how I studied and I did very well. Good luck!

Hey - I am in block 3 so I've already taken the HESI 3 times... I know by now you have already taken it but my advice - buy the HESI BOOK!!!
It will test you on stuff you haven't learned yet and the hesi book gives you "hesi hints" :)
Here is the isbn: 9781416047759
Look for it on half.com, amazon, bn.com, ebay ... you can even google online coupons that might help
