Could someone help me? I would like to know how the HESI exam works. I've seen a few posts advising test takers to "do the easy questions first" when doing the math. Does this mean that you can go back to previous questions when we do the easy questions?? Thx for any help you can give me!

The HESI entrance exam that I took would not allow you to "go back". You had to answer them as they were presented.

I wasn't able to go back either. The best advice I can give concerning the math portion of the test is to memorize as many conversions as you can. I memorized around 100 and was so glad I did as there are a lot of questions like grams to kilograms, etc. Good luck!

I agree with the other replies. My test would not allow me to go backwards, once I submitted an answer that was pretty much it.
There are plenty of Conversions so memorize as many as you can and there are Ratios formatted as word problems and numeric form so be very comfortable with those.
Good Luck to you

Totally agree with Belli about the conversions, ratios, etc. All nursing type tests are "no go back" format (usually) and the Hesi is also like that. I focused alot on the math section but do NOT undermine the difficult of the reading section. There was a part about drawing conclusions which everyone things "so simple" but don't be fooled by it.
I recommend getting the HESI entrance study guide book. Worked for me.

Hopefully chulada77 will see this... lol... but I've read a few different comments you have left on different posts. I was also stumped by the conclusions on the HESI exam. I was wondering if you figured out any method to this problem? I received a 50 percent on this section! Almost died over this... If it's easier to email me that would be wonderful! [email protected]
Thank you!

The Hesi's I've encountered (my school uses each section of the Hesi-Rn exam as our finals) is that it's not something you can truly study for. It's about examining how you think about a problem, so you have to read the question, analyze what they're asking and then pick the most right answer. They will purposely throw drugs you've never heard of (or ones not even listed in their study guide) to throw you off you're game. But every nurse I've talked to has said that the license exam was a breeze after the Hesi.

^ I think you may be talking about the exit exam.

Could someone tell me if the HESI A2 exam is the same as the EVOLVE REACH ADMISSION EXAM? I think maybe 2 schools are calling it something different! Green I am not trying to interrupt your question, but I am new at this web site, and can not figure out how to post a new question!

Yes, both names are basically the full title of the study guide. If you look at the the book you will see it for yourself. There's also a newer edition the the study guide which is Edition 3.
