HESI A2

Published

I have to take the HESI A2 exam in 2 days and am having difficulty obtaining important information about the test. Specifically, is a periodic table provided and is a unit conversion chart provided?

I can't believe that they expect you to memorize the periodic table and conversions such as cups to liters!

I have the Elsevier study guide but it i useless!

thanks!

what college are you taking it for?? i just took the a2 yesterday for chamberlain and the math was a breeze, no algebra or graphs, but there were things on there such as military times and conversions, mainly kilometers to meters and cups to pints..and as far as the science goes there was science but it was not counted for. only math and english..

It was so easy don't sweat the Chemistry part at all. Its basic and I mean basic! You don't have to know all the elements on the periodic chart. Sodium, Potasium, Calcium, Water. Think Fluid and Electrolyte balances. Have you recently taken A&P or at least Bio156? If so you will be fine. Brush up on metric converstions and ratio & proportions as you WILL need those in Nursing School so the A2 generally tests on those. It's basic intro to Nursing School stuff.

I'm taking the HESI A2 in a month and I am worried about a few things such as the reading comprehension and vocabulary.

What study guide does everyone recommend? and what websites?

I am worried about the chemistry section on the Hesi a2. Do they provide a periodic table to answer questions? I have never taken chemistry so am I bit worried about this section

hi everyone..

i am taking my hesi exam this friday... i have studied every day for 4 hr or maybe even more. i left my social life and ignored my family for this test. i really need some one to give me last few words about this test. i dont know what to expect for a &p since alot of people thought it was hard. believe it or not..i suck at reading comprehension part because i get bored reading boring things and then i dont pay attention. is reading comprehension part simple and easy to find the answer?

any suggestion would help me alot. please help..

thank you

If you're applying to Maricopa community colleges you ONLY take Math & English/grammar/vocab. It was super easy. I never touched a study guide and got 98% on math and 91 on english portion...

You need to know roman numerals, pints/cups/oz conversions and military time, the math is just basic and they even give you an onscreen calculator.

I took the Hesi A2 exam about a month ago. For all of you studying I suggest knowing your conversions by heart. It will ask several conversion questions and if you don't know how many cups are in a gallon, etc. then you wont do well on that part. You are provided with a basic calculator and scratch paper to do the math. Also study the vocabulary in your study guide (if you have one) or go online and study as much vocab as you can. I was only required to take the math, reading, vocab and grammer sections so I can't comment on the bio, chem, and A&P that some schools might also require. The study guide that I used was the HESI evolve reach admission assessment exam review 2nd addition by Mosby. It was useful but I was dissapointed that the vocabulary offered in the guide was a very small percentage tested on. If I knew then what I know now I would have studied from various online vocab sites as well. Good luck to all of you!!
