HESI A2 help!

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Hello all! I am new here. Yesterday, I took my the HESI and did OK on everything but the a&p. I got an 87 on math, 90's on reading, grammar, biology, chem. I also got 900 on my critical thinking. But when it came to the a&p, I got a 72! There were a few questions that I wanted to go back to, but I couldn't. My overall score was an 89 because of the a&p. Can I retake just one of the sections? Do the schools look at the overall grade or do they concentrate on the sections? I feel like I know a lot more than that test gave me credit for and if I took it again today I would score much better. Ugh!

I take mines tomorrow. Any pointers? How did you study?

I think that every school is different as far as what they look at. My school required an 80 or higher in every section except for the sciences (which you needed a 70 or higher). The critical thinking portion you needed a 700 or higher. At our school the hesi counts as 40%, critical thinking counts as 10%, and your science classes count as 50% (minimum of "C"). However, these are just the minimums to apply.

To my understanding you have to take the whole test over again. I only took the test once, so I can not say for certain. Good news about taking it over again is that you probably will do even better the second time around. Good Luck!:)
