So I'm taking my first Excelsior exam tomorrow, transitions!!!! I was a little too confident because I got a 72 on practice exam part A, then I took practice exam part B last night and got a 67! So I'm not so confident anymore and I can't reschedule at this point. How could this happen? Also, are there any other practice exams I can purchase...I wish I could do a few more.
Ok, now about the exam itself. I called Excelsior today and the women I spoke to told me I only need one picture ID and NOTHING else to test, is this correct? How early should I show up for the exam if I"m scheduled at 1pm? How long do I have to complete the exam and how many questions is it? I was told three hours and 130 questions, is that correct? One more thing, on the practice exam it allows you to go back and change answers, is that how the real exam works as well? Yes I'm scared, I get horrible test anxiety..any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks guys :)

Relax. Your practice exam scores were good. Get there 30 mins early with a valid photo id and you're good. Good luck! I'm taking chronicity tomorrow, so I feel your pain about the anxiety.
Oh, and more thing. You find out your results that same day? Does it pop up on the screen as soon as you finish the exam? Sorry for the million questions, I'm just not sure exactly what to expect! Thanks again!
Good luck! I'm reviewing the practice exams now! I'll pray for you if you pray for me:up: . Let me know how it goes.

Good luck; I was nervous before each exam also. I always went in feeling that I was going to pass. I believe that a positive attitude helps. Let us know how you do.

The tests don't take the whole three hours, more like an hour and a half at the most. They give you an erase board so you can write on it. You can "brain dump" once the test starts (write a bunch of facts on the erase board), I did this for every test & that helped me a lot, because I didn't get flustered. I actually did that for a few minutes before every test, without even reading the first question, to keep me relaxed. I think your grades were really good on the practice tests. I got high 60's, low 70's and passed all mine with an A or B. Good Luck, stay positive and look at every question carefully before answering.

Good luck! I graduated several years ago, but my experience was the same as others on the thread. I remember always being freaked out by low practice exam scores, then I'd go in and do fine on the exams.

Good luck. Wish I could do Excelsior--my state won't recognize it, so even if I passed with flying colors I couldn't sit for my boards.
Well I passed chronicity with an A somehow. I thought the pearsonvue lady gave me the wrong results. Jlynn and curiy, how did you two make out with your exams?
