I had it when I was 16-I was the sickest I have EVER been...I know I had the classic symptoms -rash,high fever, low b/p,vomiting and to my mortification the big D....My uncle drove my mom and I to the hospital after he covered the backseat with plastic tablecloths...I crapped on my bedroom floor-mom had to put me in the shower and wash me .I crapped in the ER bathroom and fainted-I don't remember anything else until 3 days later...thankfully...Years later my mom had squamos cell ca of the vulva with a nasty open area-she went into TSS several times-it's caused by staph aureus.I guess we grew a good crop of it in our family and our low immunue systems let it kick in..I had the german measles 2 months before the TSS and was not feeling well for a long time...I hope I am never that sick again.....

When I was high school age I had a girlfriend who had TSS (good old Rely tampons). I don't remember any of the details, I just remember she was hospitalized for a very long time.

Let's talk, my wife had TSS in April, very severe case. Am looking for anyone who has recovered or is currently recovering from TSS. We are dealing with many issues and I believe my wife would greatly benifit from conversations with persons who have shared her experience.

My cousin had it when she was 12, she hadn't even gotten her period yet. All I can remember hearing is that she almost died, I know she was REALLY sick. Extremely high fever, vomiting, sore throat, ect ect. She was in the hospital for a long time, she's fine today though and 16.
