Help

I need some help from your creative minds :) ~ In my Nutrition class we were given assigments in groups for next month. my group has to do Sodium and it's effects on the body etc. that's not a problem, however the teacher has turned this into a lunch date. so now we have to include food so everyone can eat at the end of the class. each group is doing something for nurtition so we will have a buffet style lunch. My question is, can anyone give us any ideas of how to be creative w/sodium? thanks.

Snyder's of Berlin makes a great Sea Salt and Cracked Pepper potato chip!

Think NaCl!

Potato chips have lots of NaCl. So do margaritas!

Or how about mock Margaritas with salt around the rim of the glass!

I guess we were both thinking along the same line!!!!!

wow! you all are GREAT :p ! I love it, I love it.....We will have a "party" theme. with mock margaritas (oh how i wish i could add the tequilla...maybe after class), peanuts, crackers and other type of party appetizers. Thank you all so much! You have no idea how much i appreciate your help and thoughts

How about including things that are high in sodium but we don't realize it?? Let people think they are eating healthy then tell them how much sodium they just ate.

The teacher of a nutrition class wants to feed you all a lunch high in sodium? Did I miss something?

Go for just about anything considered convenience food. Chips, popcorn, that kind of stuff. Ham has high sodium. How about other lunch meats?

Aren't some soft drinks also high in sodium? I could be wrong on that one. Regular V-8 juice is.

there are 25 different groups, my group just happens to have sodium. the lunch will consist of every groups item. some people have calcium, vitamin e, potassium, etc.... we also have to tell what hormone controls na balance, how the body uses na, symptoms of sodium deficiency, symptoms of sodium toxicity, etc. i needed creative ideas b/c we are suppose to have a lot of fun with it. i see how that made you think she was a little nutty though:p .sorry i didn't explain it too well.[color=#008080]hormone that controls sodium balance

body uses of sodium

symptoms of sodium deficiency

symptoms of sodium toxicityresearch the following nutrient: sodium

Maybe your group should handle the hors d'oeuvres. Think crackers, chips, pickles, olives, small pieces of lunchmeats served on a toothpick, etc. For drinks, you could have seltzer or tonic water served with a slice of lime, lemon, or orange.
