My husband and I are planning to move to Southern California for his job, and I'd like to still pursue nursing school while we are there. Does anyone know of some good nursing schools near Temecula? I'd be willing to drive a half hour away. I have looked into Mt. San Jacinto, but haven't found any other schools. Thank you!

California State University San Marcos. I think that's pretty close (not sure though)
San Diego State University but I think it's a bit further.

Hi. I live in Temecula too. I have applied to Kaplan in San Diego and I took my cna class there. The only school near Temecula is MSJC. If you have a bachelors already, Cal State San Marcos has opened an extension campus for an accelerated nursing program in Temecula. Not an option for me. Riverside Community College is about a half hour away, as is Palomar college. National University has it's main campus in Rancho Bernardo, and that's about a half an hour away. You can get to San Bernardino in about 45 minutes. You can also get to a lot of places in San Diego in about 45 minutes. That's how long it takes me. It always depends on the time of day. If you plan ahead to miss rush hour, you will be fine. Temecula is great because it's right in the middle of all the big cities. It just sucks that we don't have more schools here in town. Good luck!
Thanks everyone for your help! It's hard when you aren't physically there to go into the schools an talk to someone. I have emailed some advisors too at different schools, and they all are like 'you have to come to an info. session'! I am in WA so I can't do that, but I want to be able to get into pre-req's in January. Any recommendations on where to take those? I have to retake AP 1 & 2, Micro and Eng. I appreciate all your feedback!! Thanks!!

Also, try on line classes. I'm not sure if the sciences is a good choice for on line, but the pre-reqs are great for someone who can't get to class but wants to start the pre-regs, that's what I'm doing. I don't actually step into a "real" college until next fall, but I'm taking my pre-regs on line this semester and next. I have 4 small children, one being a newborn, so to go to class right now is next to impossible.

Loma Linda University is a bit further away but it's another option, albeit a more expensive one.....I live in Hemet and commute to CSU San Marcos for lecture and clinicals...it's not bad especially since I carpool.....just depends on what program you're trying to get into....Mira Costa College also has a program but I think it's LVN, I dunno if they have a RN program....I've only seen their LVN students running around the hospitals during clinical

Hi,
Are you in CSUSM nursing program?
I applied ABSN Spring 2010?
Do you know anything or anyone in the program? How is it? Is it competitive?
Would you mind telling me more about the program, i am really nervous.
Thanks

winnieyippooh,
From word of mouth and hints by the counselors, the absn in csusm is not nearly as competative as their regular nursing program. I heard most everyone who applies gets in. Good luck!
Thanks, your words help alot.
I feel much relieved now

Hello,
http://www.rn.ca.gov/schools/rnprograms.shtml
Ca Board of RN site should be helpful. I know of a junior college named Palomar is out there. Hope that helps!
