This happened to my friend's daughter. She is a very bright girl, but not a good test taker. She finally went for LPN and is now set to complete the bridge program and for RN in December. BTW, she passec the LPN boards with no trouble. You could also consider a private program. If other factors are good (experience, standardized testing, etc), then they may admit you.

Yea I agree to retake the coorifices. Is your GPA right now below a 2.5? Also, some nursing programs look at GRE. But it wouldn't hurt to apply and see :) Good luck. Keep your head up. I know it's hard, but so worth it in the end.

You should get serious and retake those classes. See if your college offers a "grade forgiveness". You usually get two down here in florida. Retake two of those classes. I know down here they can say "Minimum 2.5gpa" but what they really mean is "Minimum 3.5gpa but we'll take down to a 2.5 if no one applies". People are applying in droves. It's not hard to get A's in these pre-req's if you apply yourself. Sometimes you have to work in the hot of summer a couple of times to understand the term "apply yourself".

First of all, thank you!

My GPA is 2.33 just for science courses.

But my overall GPA is 3.7

I just found a nursing program in LACC.

They requires minimum GPA is 2.0 in science courses.

Should I try? Is it really matters in my future job opportunities if I go to good or bad school for nursing program?

Keep in mind that the "minimum requirement" listed in the college catalogue is dramatically skewed these days because so many people are apparently desperate to get into nursing school (go figure). So, if the school can only accept 30 of the 300 people who apply --- they will be taking the TOP 30. And even #30 will probably have a GPA of >3.5.

My school has a similar requirement. I had a friend who did not make the 2.5 and was given a 'challenge form' from the nursing sciences office. He basically challenged their required GPA, gave a reason as to why he was not able to make it, and they waived the necessary 2.5 for him.

I know other people who have done the same. HouTX is right. Requirements are more skewed than programs make them out to seem. Does your school offer anything similar?

Re-take the classes. Good luck. I don't know a single person who got into nursing school without a 3.5 or higher here, yet it says you only need a 2.5. Too many people, they take only the highest GPAs here. Good luck to you!
